There’s a new #1 this week. Despite the injury to star Jamal Murray too. The Hornets’ top 6 guys makes it so an injury does not put them out of contention. They went on a great run last year and plan to do the same this year too. Embiid could miss some time which would definitely hurt, but this team seems bound to win a championship sometime soon if everything falls right.

I’d say the Milwaukee is the favorite for the title to win back-to-back, and that is with the youngest team in the NLL. I did not think the Bucks would be as good as they are with all of the new rookies. The Giannis at center experiment has not only worked, but has took the league by storm. I cannot imagine the future of this team with how they look already.

Philadelphia has had a great season, and should be fully healthy for playoffs with Zion coming back next week. The 76ers should definitely make some noise with a good starting lineup and amazing depth. With the league being so guard driven this year, it is possible that they are able to win it all with the backcourt of Lillard and Harden. The future also looks bright with rookies Tyrese Maxey and Saddiq Bey already blossoming.

We have not seen much of the new look Suns with all of the injuries, but as of late they have been healthy and looked very good! The team has a good mix of veterans and youth, but two players are set to get paid this offseason. Markkanen and Trent Jr are RFAs and will likely get some pretty good money. It will be interesting to see if either are moved at the deadline or kept.

Luka has been on another level this season, just a 3rd year player but already being in MVP talks. The passing along with scoring production is unreal, he has gone through lots of tough times too with injuries happening to his teammates quite often. He has been the reason the Pacers have had the success they have had, but I can not wait until the trio of Luka, McCollum, and Hayward have an extended period of time together.

Jerami Grant is healthy this week, so we will see what comes of the Tobias Harris trade now. Jokic will always be a great player, he just needs to be more of a focal point of the teams offense to see the best production. The depth is overlooked with this team as they have 10 players in the Top 270 of the NBA. FA will be big with a lot of players being on expiring contracts this offseason!

Washington acquired Norman Powell at the deadline to try and go all in to make the playoffs. With the duo of Kyrie and Simmons I can see why you would, especially with both of them healthy. Robert Williams has been a pleasant surprise too, with the big man position needing to be filled and he did just that. With the trade for Powell they gave up two young guys who were not in the rotation, Garrett Temple and their 2021 1st round pick.

Curry had a historic week averaging 50 ppg and leading the Nets to a 3-1 record on the week. The cap issues are really what has hurt them since lots of trades have hurt the quality of players on their roster. Curry and Middleton could be shopped soon, with Sabonis and Fox leading a small rebuild. They are definitely contenders, but with Fox’s extension soon to kick in it will likely have to change.

Denver went and put their chips in for the playoffs getting Malcolm Brogdon along with getting Joe Ingles. Brogdon will slot in with Conley who is having a career year, and this team is in the playoffs as of right now. The pick will not be as valuable if they make the playoffs possibly changing the trade quite a bit.

Looks to not be much going on here with no GM still. I can’t believe nobody wants this juggernaut team! The injuries are hurting them, but long term they should be fine. Brown and Tatum along with the other great players should be enough talent to win a championship sometime. With a lot of extensions kicking in and Collins getting paid this offseason, they will need to focus on the cap situation.

New York is fully healthy now! Now the lineup they are going with this week is...interesting. Mitchell is coming off of the bench with Bol Bol starting at SF. I do not think it will be like that for long though, if Darko can figure out the best lineup and rotation they should be a playoff team. If injuries do not happen too, but Russell is good for the rest of the season so that is a good thing.

Boston has everybody healthy now, it is a dream come true for them since they’ve had issues all season. With being fully healthy they won against the top team in the league too. The Celtics are really showing they should make the playoffs, the hard part about this is just getting a little bit lucky, with the teams in the playoff picture looking really good too. Look out for them to make an end of season push!

The whole team was made available here, but nothing came of it. Aldridge retiring hurt them a lot with not being able to get anything for him and losing one of their best players. It is hard to say where the team will be going with great players for win-now, but the pick from New Orleans could choose the path with a possible rebuilding piece coming in. It will be interesting to see their offseason and how it goes for them.

Dallas made a good move getting Jae Crowder the day of the trade deadline. Derozan will be a FA this offseason and is a big part of the team. The team could go into a rebuild or stay with what they got. There’s a lot of young pieces to start with if that happens. Chris Paul has a player option too, so in the worst case scenario all of the veterans could leave for nothing, but the team looks prepared for the worst.

OKC went through tough times, but injuries aren’t a big issue anymore with the top of roster guys being healthy. The Thunder are a good playoff team having two superstars and great role players. Kawhi recently won POTW too averaging 48.3 ppg! He’s also the scoring leader of the NLL at the moment, if he can bring that to the playoffs they will be hard to stop.

Portland made a blockbuster trade involving Andrew Wiggins at the trade deadline, getting Andre Drummond, Kevin Porter Jr, and the Knicks 2023 1st Rounder. This is massive with the potential Porter Jr has and if Drummond is resigned it makes it 100% worth it. The Blazers now have some picks to use in the future possibly too with the Spurs pick going to them this summer.

San Antonio should have their best players back for a while now, dealing with injuries earlier on. The team does not own any picks and made no moves at the deadline, but Lamelo has changed the whole franchise not needing as many moves and not needing the picks either.

Memphis made a big splash at the trade deadline, moving KAT and getting a haul in return including 2 1sts, Jaren Jackson Jr, Kelly Oubre and Kentavious Caldwell Pope. I feel it is a great return and JJJ could be the new centerpiece of the franchise. This helps them expand their assets too, which was consolidated in KAT before.

The Lakers were not very active in trades this year, but the team is waiting for Garland, Wiseman, and Wood to continue developing still. Nesmith and Vassell are the same with this year only being their 1st. The team does not have their 1st next year, which they may not have to worry too much about if everything goes well.

Injuries have been the issue all year long, but they still find themselves in the playoff picture. TJ Warren is out for the season and Spencer Dinwiddie probably is too. The one thing keeping them alive is the depth at the top of the roster, they have 11 players in the Top 260 of the league, so even with the injuries they can still put out a good rotation.

Detroit had a .500 week even with Ja Morant missing the games despite being healthy. It shows how good this team is and makes you wonder how good they are at full force. Detroit was looking around for trades at the deadline, but nothing came up. This team has a bright future and are looking good for now too. There have been some pleasant surprises this season for the Heat that will help their depth for the future. Ty Jerome and Jordan Poole have broke out and Terence Mann has too. New Orleans made a move to trade John Wall, Mitchell Robinson, and Hamidou Diallo for Pascal Siakam and Brook Lopez. I like it for them with getting Siakam he’s an easier contract to trade, younger, and doesn’t have quite the health concerns. The team will get Klay Thompson too next year, so they could definitely compete with Brook Lopez being a very good player too!

The Timberwolves have a lot of young guys, a lot are still unproven, but there’s lots of potential there. Graham will be a FA this offseason but as an RFA and the Timberwolves have lots of money giving making it likely an easy decision to match. Kevin Love is holding them back a little with the amount of money he is owed, but he will not get in the way of these younger guys pay days so there’s no too much of a worry there. Love and Nance are great veterans to help these young guys develop.

Sacramento had a 3 game win streak, but JWalk slowed it down while he could so they can maintain the worst record in the league. The future looks bright, but the team is not very good right now. Cleveland is a big player here at the deadline. Already trading Bamba and with KAT in as their cornerstone their future looks bright. Brayden has really turned the franchise around trading away Lebron and Drummond to kickstart a rebuild. The Cavs will likely not be able to make the playoffs this year being too far back and the East being very good. The playoffs could be possible next year though!

Golden State has made some good moves this year. Getting Cole Anthony was huge for them, as well as Melton and Milton in the trade for Norman Powell. There’s a mix of youth and veterans, but with all of their trades I can see where they are coming from. It has happened slowly, but the outlook of the Warriors looks great. Orlando is going slow with the rebuild and should be trusted as they have one of the best GMs in the history of the NLL. He knows what he is doing with trades and trading Haliburton was very good for this franchise since one player can’t build the team. It’s a rebuilding year, but the team has seen some success at times. This draft is big for them as they currently have 2 1sts in this years draft.
