Charlotte has heard enough of the noise that they’re not QUITE on the level of the other top teams in the league. The fact that they are 25-4, yet only have the 5th best record in the league is insane, but Digga’s often injured twin-tower frontcourt has been experiencing a healthy season for the most part-to-date, as KP and Embiid are leading the charge for an ultra-talented and deep team.

LeBron and Kawhi are undoubtedly the best duo in the game right now. (Who let this happen... oh wait...) The Thunder don’t quite have the ELITE depth (they’re still pretty dang deep) and youth that some of the other top teams have, but I’m sure Nenjabin could care less about that right now. The Thunder are currently winning their games by an average point differential of +32.

The Clippers recently changed ownership, a shock to many, but the team is continuing to obliterate their competition. Los Angeles is one of the few teams at the top of the league who are able to bring legit all-star level players off the bench, because they simply don’t have enough slots to start them all. Will the new GM make any changes?

Giannis is doing Giannis things for the reigning champs. The offseason saw Badwolf unload a couple all-stars, in KAT and Donovan Mitchell, in favor of draft picks. The rookies have been inconsistent, and Nurkic, another offseason addition hasn’t played a game yet. But this team has Trae Young as their 6th man. They’re just fine, and they’ll only get better.

The 76ers have the best record in the league... yet somehow they’re sitting at 5th...? Idk, don’t ask me. Harden, who was subject to some trade rumors over the summer, has been dominant alongside his partner in crime, Damian Lillard. New addition Kyle Anderson bolsters the bench for Philly, as they’ve set their eyes on dismantling the Bucks this year after getting ousted by them the previous year.

The Nets round out the “superteams” tier, les by their alternate universe “Splash Bros”, Curry and Middleton. Wizkid has been quiet this season, yet to make a move, but he seems content with the pieces he has. Fox and Sabonis have proven to be building blocks for the future, alongside the talent he has in the present. Also, he has Boban... who’s like, REALLY tall.

After a rougn start to the year, Titles made a big move to acquire DeAndre Ayton. While not everyone like the move from his point of view at first glance, he’s silenced them real quick. Portland is storming into the playoff picture, behind a young roster that is outplaying their previous expectations. DeAndre Hunter will soon make his return and bolster the Blazers’ depth. Recent moves also are bring in heady veteran PGs in Delly and MCW, are more moves on the horizon?

Don’t look now, but the Grizzlies are making some noise. Another team that struggled toward the beginning of the year, they’ve taken off in a big way, now that Karl-Anthkny Towns is healthy and dominant as always. Memphis was Gallo land last year, but A_Aron has turned this team into an uprising team full of promise.

The Hawks are soaring up the ranks, led by... *squints, rubs eyes*... 27 points/game from Eric Bledsoe??? Atlanta has a team full of rock/solid veterans, and while they’re missing the absences of TJ Warren and Spencer Dinwiddie, they haven’t let that drag them down. The question will be how sustainable is Bledsoe’s production, and how good are they without it?

The Wizards have put together a rock-solid recipe for success, surrounding Kyrie and Ben Simmons with shooters and rim-runners. They’re top 2 players are just about as good as anyone’s and come playoff time, this is a squad that has the potential to make some noise, so long as they can stay healthy.

The Knicks are still finding a way to stay afloat, despite the absense of Andre Drummond. The bulk of the credit goes to Donovan Mitchell, who has been on a torrid streak lately. Darko has some youngsters up his sleeve who are showing loads of potential in Mikal Bridges and Kevin Porter Jr. Lonzo Ball has remained solid. Bol Bol has a cool name. ;)

The Lakers are starting to show signs of life again, gripping onto the last play-in spot in the west. (Not a high bar to reach, but a ticket to the postseason regardless.) James Wiseman is the story of the team, notching terrific numbers for a rookie and currently the runaway candidate for Rookie of the Year.

The Suns have dropped off slightly, with KD rehabbing an injury, but Jimmy Butler and Kyle Lowry are good enough to keep the team afloat for the time being. Despite LaMarcus Aldridge currently sitting out, the Raptors are slowly inching back into the playoff picture, led by the brilliant Bradley Beal. For a veteran team such as Toronto is, you’d hope to see a few more Ws in their win collumn, there have been rumors that Carl is exploring tearing things down, but righting the ship isn’t outside the realm of possibility.

The Mavericks have already changed hands a few times this year after an active offseason saw them bolster for a play-off run this year, before looking to flip back towards a rebuild. They’re still one of the better teams in the west, led by DeMar DeRozan, and just recently introduced another new owner a few days back. What does the future hold for the Mavs?

The Rockets have a losing record... yet have the 5th seed in the west? Jokic is carrying the team in a big way, as he has been ever since being traded from OKC. The Pacers’ stars are drowning in injuries right now, we still don’t really know what this team is capable of when fully healthy. Luka, CJ, and Hayward, is a tremendous big 3, though, and they have a good amount of complementary players to put around their stars. This may be a team to watch for.

The Spurs continue to struggle, and AD’s extended absence is only adding fuel to the fire. Not to mention that LaMelo Ball, who was finally starting to figure out his way in the NLL, went down with a likely season ending injury. Things are looking bleak for San Antonio right now, Leeroy will have his hands full trying to turn things around.

Golden State is a team in flux. They have a young star in Bam Adebayo, but outside of him, they’re a little lacking. There are some young-ish veterans on the team, but the Warriors are a team that should be looking multiple years into the future. With Tim as their GM, I think they’re in good hands.

The Pelicans made a splash by acquiring Nikola Vucevic to pair with John Wall over the summer. It hasn’t been flawless, but Vooch has been just enough to keep the Pels in the playoff picture.
