Minnesota Timberwolves - Power Ranking

Week Rank Rating Team Record Comment
20 20 20 Min 4-6 It was a pretty lousy year for Wolves GM Jonathan. Injuries prevented him from showcasing the players he wanted to trade. Of course, we can't blame him. This team was in pretty bad shape when he came into the Twin Cities. Still, the fans are hoping for more initiative on his part next season to do SOMETHING to make the team better.
19 17 31 Min 5-6 The T-Wolves are finally healthy and they’ve been competitive. Makes you wonder where they’d be if they didn’t get overwhelmed by so many injuries.
18 22 11 Min 3-9 The Timberwolves are a team looking for bright spots, and with a good lottery selection coming up, they can make some moves in the off season.
15 27 -6 Min 2-9 The T-Wolves are just about right there with the Kings in the standings, but just not quite bad enough.
14 24 8 Min 3-9 The Timberwolves have a lot of young guys, a lot are still unproven, but there’s lots of potential there. Graham will be a FA this offseason but as an RFA and the Timberwolves have lots of money giving making it likely an easy decision to match. Kevin Love is holding them back a little with the amount of money he is owed, but he will not get in the way of these younger guys pay days so there’s no too much of a worry there. Love and Nance are great veterans to help these young guys develop.
13 28 0 Min 2-10 Love and Okeke will be back next week. Nance is out for the year, at least for Minnesota since he will not be able to return until playoffs. Minnesota hopes for a top pick in this year's draft, and they have a solid team with lots of young players. They will need to pay Devonte Graham this offseason, but do not have any cap issues.
12 29 -11 Min 1-11 Things have not gone Minnesota's way this season, Kevin Love and Larry Nance have been injured all throughout. Graham has also seen some time injured. It has been a good year to see what the young guys got though with Jaden McDaniels looking good for them.
11 28 -8 Min 1-10 Gm points for nothing deal: Jerome Robinson for 15 gm points! Just one day after Robinson was not in the league anymore. Good get for less: Tacko Fall for 5 gm points was a great deal. Tacko is averaging 5 points and 5 rebounds per game off the bench.
10 22 16 Min 3-7 Things are turning around somewhat for the T-Wolves, managing to go 3-7 over their last 10. Kevin Love and Avery Bradley making their return from injury should further help this team be at least somewhat competitive. Still, can’t imagine they’ll be winning many games.
9 23 9 Min 3-7 The T-Wolves would be the worst team in the West, but the Kings are still a thing.
8 27 -8 Min 2-9 The Timberwolves have been run over by injuries and then some, but things look to be starting to get back to normal. Minnesota has some intriguing young pieces who are still trying to get their feet underneath them in the league. I think Jonathan has a plan, though, and the Timberwolves should have a bright outlook so long as he remains in Minny.
7 29 -20 Min 1-10 Minnesota's outlook is probably a bit better than the Kangz, but the fall off from Devonte Graham has been concerning after he seemed to break out last year. They have some solid youngsters who could lift the team in the coming years though.
6 29 -15 Min 1-9 Injuries! There are currently 6 injuries to Timberwolves players, with the two best players being out. Also none of the players are top 100 in NLL and their best player overall wise has been out all season. Patty Mills really showed out this past week. The rebuild in Minnesota is going well though with the young players they have and this upcoming draft looking good for them at the moment.
5 28 -10 Min 1-8 Minnesota is another rebuilding team with some very intriguing pieces. If we are going to focus on Rootseys drafting prowess, it would be unfair to ignore the prowess of GM Jonathan! He has done an exceptional job with his late draft picks in his short time in the league landing Flynn and Mcdaniels, and of course signing on Duncan Robinson who has grown immensely during his short time in the league. This is yet another team who is on the rise and should be a force to be reckoned with in the coming years.
4 30 -30 Min 0-10 With both Kevin Love and Larry Nance Jr out the big man depth couldn't get much worse. It will be hard for this team to win any games right now, with nobody on the team being in the NLL Top 100. This year although it may seem like it is wasteful, will show GM Jonathan what the young guys have, and will allow the team to be in a good position come Draft Day. The team could have a mini resurgence with Nance and Love's returns.
3 27 -18 Min 1-10 Minnesota are truly in struggle town. Where the hell is the Love? Kevin remains on the sidelines and that doesn't help anything, at all. He's not getting trade value, he's not helping wins, he's just sitting their eating $100 bills for breakfast and washing them down with the souls of the Minnesota fanbase. Add in Nance's injury, and what is looking like a regression from Devonte and Duncan, oh and Bradley is out again, and it's not a fun time. On the plus side, they too drafted nicely with Jaden McDaniels already showing some signs in a rotation and the 2nd rounders Flynn, Carey and Terry all ripping up the GLeague. Hopefully they can come into the big time soon, get some boosts and help right this ship.
2 28 -12 Min 1-7 Minnesota may have set a record in week 2 that might never be broken. They lost to the Charlotte Hornets by 93 points. I can't recall a blowout of that magnitude and it's hard to imagine that even being possible. To be fair, they've been without two of their stronger players in Kevin Love and Avery Bradley for all of their games this season, so they haven't really been able to field their best lineup. Not that they would have won that game, but maybe some of their closer losses. They do have three potentially winnable games in week 3, but they've also lost Larry Nance, so maybe not.
1 23 3 Min 1-3 Devonte Graham is playing well...but the KLove and Bradley injuries are leaving the Wolves without real scoring threats. Minny owns their own pick, so maybe it isn't a bad thing to be losing right now.
