Golden State Warriors - Power Ranking

Week Rank Rating Team Record Comment
20 19 29 GS 5-6 Well, the season wasn't a total failure. The Warriors wanted nothing more than to make the lotto. But with the weak backend of the Western Conference (all play-in teams sub-.500), the Warriors almost blew it by being TOO good. All's well that ends well, though. The Warriors missed the playoffs by a hair but now have a (very very small) chance of getting Cade Cunningham this summer.
19 18 29 GS 5-6 Cole Anthony and Bam Adebayo are young, rising talents in this league. Bam being the face of the franchise will put pressure on the front office to go out and get him some help.
18 24 7 GS 3-9 The warriors seem to have found a potential diamond in the rough with Cole Anthony. The rookie has a great season and pairing him with Bam has the warriors looking forward to the future.
15 24 5 GS 2-7 The Warriors are on a 6-game losing streak, but they aren't even close to Minnesota and Sacramento in the tanking race.
14 27 -9 GS 1-9 Golden State has made some good moves this year. Getting Cole Anthony was huge for them, as well as Melton and Milton in the trade for Norman Powell. There’s a mix of youth and veterans, but with all of their trades I can see where they are coming from. It has happened slowly, but the outlook of the Warriors looks great. This draft could be huge if they get lucky in the lottery too.
13 30 -16 GS 1-10 I did not think the Warriors would be #30 with the recent trade, yeah they were more for the long term, but the players they got were good quality, and injuries are not as big of a problem now. It may be the gameplan, but this team should be a lot better than this.
12 20 22 GS 4-8 Golden State has made a lot of good trades this season they are able to go and rebuild or try and win soon. The Warriors are on a long losing streak currently sitting at 9 straight. The Warriors have their pick for this upcoming draft so there is no pressure to make the playoffs.
11 23 17 GS 4-8 Not leaving with me deal: Powell is in his last year with player option for next season. This would be too risk to Golden State do have him in the roster for next season and lose him for nothing. I get it. I just don’t get this second round pick… Ok deal: Well, Clarkson for Derick Favors and Cole Anthony is fine. Cole has some potential and Golden State believe in him.
10 20 28 GS 5-7 It’s been a rough season for the Warriors, but Bam Adebayo continues to be a bright spot, averaging 17/14/3 in week 10. Cole Anthony should be making his debut in week 12. Things are looking up.
9 29 -14 GS 1-10 How is the team currently 10th in the West (not good, but not 29th in the Power Rankings bad)? They lost 10 games in 11 tries with that one win being a three-point victory over the Kings. GS has won two straight games in Week 10 though, so a turnaround may be coming.
8 22 12 GS 3-7 Golden State is a team in flux. They have a young star in Bam Adebayo, but outside of him, they’re a little lacking. There are some young-ish veterans on the team, but the Warriors are a team that should be looking multiple years into the future. With Tim as their GM, I think they’re in good hands.
7 20 20 GS 4-6 Golden State has been struggling without star player Bam Adebayo, and arguably their biggest weakness has been PG. Luckily, this year has 2 really good PGs in the draft, so I'm sure they're not too upset at the fall down the standings.
6 21 23 GS 5-6 The Warriors are really going to miss Bam this week, he is the heart of this team and the team runs through him. Golden State is still in somewhat of a rebuild, but have put themselves into the playoff picture now. Bogdanovic is making his season debut this week which is some good news. We hope it will be a short time for Bam's absence as he's such a fun player to watch.
5 24 13 GS 4-7 Golden State is foreal folks! And I must make this point as this formula clearly is not giving GM Tim Burke the respect his team deserves. GS currently sits in the 8 spot out west with an 9-12 record, though their recent form has been quite impressive! They are 4-2 in their last 6 with wins over Detroit and San Antonio who sit 5th and 7th in their conference respectively. I think we'll see GS depth keep them from the lottery selections next draft season, and see them perhaps steal a game from one of the West's tops teams after they sneak into the postseason this year.
4 22 13 GS 4-7 Bam is carrying the Warriors to surpass expectations right now. He is the anchor of the defense while also leading the team in points and rebounds. The Warriors have beaten Indiana and Utah, both playoff teams, and the Warriors are the 9th seed right now. Bogdan Bogdanovic is currently injured and is much needed scoring, with the only double digit scorers being Bam, Clarkson, and Powell, none of which are close to averaging 20 ppg.
3 23 19 GS 4-6 Is this about where we all expected the Warriors to be? Possibly. They retained Clarkson and Bogdan, but Bogdan has sat this year so far which is a kick in the teeth. Bam is doing all he can, and Clarkson and Anderson too for that matter, but the team was always in a bit of flux. Tim though is playing the patient game which is great. He has some nice pieces and he has some time to develop them and this is the time to grow your wealth for a team that was starved of attention for far too long.
2 20 13 GS 3-4 The Warriors are doing their best to battle but they've had a challenging schedule to start the season. Unfortunately, they've already dropped their first game of week 3 to the struggling Hawks. And they have to face the Clippers again this week. But they could notch a win against Minnesota, who only has one win so far this season.
1 18 6 GS 1-2 Bam is the star. This is the building block. Everyone else must go... no, seriously. Bam is playing great. Besides Clarkson, it seems everyone else is allergic to playing decent basketball. It may be a long season, but at least Bam is the bright spot.
