Portland Trail Blazers - Power Ranking

Week Rank Rating Team Record Comment
20 18 34 Por 4-5 The Blazers have the loudest PR department in the league. And for as much as they trumpet their favorite players, they are soon sent out of town. Follow the thread of trades and you will see that Blazers are kinda worse off than before. See what they gave up for Gallinari and then what they got back. Coby White 4eva? They did make the playoffs, though! Without stud Wiggins.
19 19 29 Por 4-6 One of the busiest teams on the trade market this season, and yet the Blazers may not even make the playoffs. Not a great look.
18 13 48 Por 6-5 The Blazers are a team led by their big men Deandre Ayton and Andre Drummond, who are trying to keep the play in hopes alive at the 8 seed. At 6-5 in the last 11, they need to try to stay above 500 so they do not fall to the 9 seed for postseason concerns.
15 17 44 Por 6-5 Portland finally sold off Andrew Wiggins after trying to do so all season. It hasn't made a difference in their recent winning ways though. They've won 7 straight and 8 of 9.
14 16 39 Por 6-6 Portland made a blockbuster trade involving Andrew Wiggins at the trade deadline, getting Andre Drummond, Kevin Porter Jr, and the Knicks 2023 1st Rounder. This is massive with the potential Porter Jr has and if Drummond is resigned it makes it 100% worth it. The Blazers now have some picks to use in the future possibly too with the Spurs pick going to them this summer.
13 12 45 Por 6-6 Portland is trying to make the playoffs this year with a recent acquisition of Goran Dragic. Ayton and Wiggins have been amazing and their ROTY candidate should be back soon. This is a team that has a bright future, and will rely heavily on the growth of their young guys with having very few picks.
12 11 55 Por 6-5 The Trail Blazers are having a rough week so far and only have 8 players healthy. They are missing a lot of their top players as of now. This year will likely be hard for the Trail Blazers to make a splash, but with Haliburton, Wiggins, and Ayton this team could be great.
11 24 17 Por 3-8 Idk what is going on deal: There are so many trades coming out of Portland that I have no idea where all this is going. This Eric Gordon trade is at least a summary of what has happened this year there. They are got Hayes and a pick but also Gordon and his contract, giving away Portis, Diallo and White… Well idk. I’m a fan of Haliburton deal: Brown, Hunter and two first round picks. Ok you have Haliburton fan badge now.
10 25 4 Por 2-8 In a span of 3 weeks the Blazers have made 3 trades resulting in the acquisition of 6 new players. Eric Gordon, Terrence Davis, Jarret Culver, Jaxson Hayes, Ryan Arcidiacano and Tyrese Halliburton. Moves that have yet to pay off, but Halliburton should active next week and that very well could help turn things around
9 17 37 Por 5-5 This team may never get a chance to settle down with how many trades are being made. Perhaps the latest one will get them off a five-game losing streak.
8 7 77 Por 8-2 After a rougn start to the year, Titles made a big move to acquire DeAndre Ayton. While not everyone like the move from his point of view at first glance, he’s silenced them real quick. Portland is storming into the playoff picture, behind a young roster that is outplaying their previous expectations. DeAndre Hunter will soon make his return and bolster the Blazers’ depth. Recent moves also are bring in heady veteran PGs in Delly and MCW, are more moves on the horizon?
7 9 64 Por 7-4 Portland is much the same as ATL imo, seeming to outperform the talent they have on their roster. They're still extremely young, but Ayton has given the team a shot in the arm. They did play creampuffs the past 2 weeks going by SoS, but wins are wins, and they're clinging to that 8th seed in the West and hoping to keep moving up. They also had a pretty tough 1st half schedule-wise, so the remaining games should be favorable to them.
6 10 50 Por 6-6 The Trail Blazers have now found their big man of the future, Deandre Ayton. Coby White and Andrew Wiggins have continued playing well, and Frank Ntilikina has been a pleasant surprise averaging 13.1 ppg and 6.6 apg. Deandre Hunter has been out for some time now, but the team looks a lot better than before, but it is hard to tell the long term effects the trades made on the team.
5 23 14 Por 3-9 Portland made the big trade a few weeks back, and boy oh boy does it look like it's going to pay dividends. The team has rattled off 3 wins in their last 4 games, one of which was a pivotal W they earned at the expense of their conference couterpart Utah Jazz. Will Titles be able to make this thing work with the plethura of young talent he has, upon the inclusion of Ayton. It looks so now, but it'll be interesting to see if the streak of good play is a long term form, or a short term spurt.
4 27 -5 Por 2-10 The Trail Blazers are entering their first week with Deandre Ayton, but Lauri Markkanen, RJ Barrett and Poku are now gone. The team did much better last week, winning 2 games compared to their 1 from the first 3 weeks. Deandre Ayton, Hamidou Diallo, Javale McGee, and Frank Ntilikina all are set to make debuts in Portland this week. If I had to guess I would say they start to go up in the Power Rankings with how Ayton has looked in Detroit.
3 29 -18 Por 1-10 Portland are 29th...Clay...what? 1-10? What is going on! This roster is in actual fact far too talented to be down here, so the coaching needs a tweak for sure. DeAndre Jordan is a fine man mountain to sit in the middle, Lauri in theory is the perfect partner to him, but he's not getting enough ball, and Wiggins/Barrett/Coby with Hunter, Reid and a rejuvenated Portis is not talent to be sneezed at. The teams immediately above them would love to have that kind of arsenal. Clay, you've done nicely to put the boys on the park, now go out there and make them play like they should be!
2 27 -10 Por 1-6 Portland is a team loaded with young talent that hasn't yet reached anything near their potential. So teams are walking over them. But it doesn't feel like we're too far away from this being a team that's stacking up win after win. Maybe that's naive optimism. But this really does feel like a team that's better than their 1-8 record might suggest.
1 22 4 Por 1-2 This team had high expectations, from their GM. Most of the rest of the league seems to feel this is more of the expectation, as they were really overachievers last year. RJ and Lauri are way underperforming, as is Coby. Fortunately, Wiggins is playing well, but when your only win is against a hapless Suns team, you may have to look in the mirror and realize some hard truths.
