Philadelphia 76ers - Power Ranking

Week Rank Rating Team Record Comment
20 3 96 Phi 10-2 Sixers finish as top team in the East in terms of PRs, but fell just shy of Giannis and the Bucks. Still, the Sixers beat them a few times this season. The Sixers have lost some games fully healthy near the end, calling their dominance into question. But they are still a heavy favorite to emerge from the East.
19 4 99 Phi 10-2 Currently paying 100 million-ish between their big 3 (Harden, Dame, Gobert), its championship or bust for the 76er front office as we had into the post season.
18 3 92 Phi 9-3 The sixers come in at 3, as they start to pick up steam again with a 5 game winning streak in place. With the dynamic and electric backcourt of James Harden and Damian Lillard, this team has the firepower to go toe to toe with any backcourt in league history. With Rudy Gobert manning the paint, and A young Zion Williamson slamming and banging down low, this team has top-tier talent at every possible level of the game and has a great bench to pick up the slack when the starters need a blow. This team can be a serious threat in the playoffs so them getting hot should put the eastern conference, and a certain team in the East, on notice.
15 3 89 Phi 8-2 The last few weeks have not been as kind to the 76ers. They have three losses since the start of May and have thus slipped back in the league standings. Nevertheless, they have the starpower to overcome this..can you call is a slump if you lose just three times in 11 games?
14 3 95 Phi 9-2 Philadelphia has had a great season, and should be fully healthy for playoffs with Zion coming back next week. The 76ers should definitely make some noise with a good starting lineup and amazing depth. With the league being so guard driven this year, it is possible that they are able to win it all with the backcourt of Lillard and Harden. The future also looks bright with rookies Tyrese Maxey and Saddiq Bey already blossoming.
13 4 91 Phi 9-2 Injuries are the only reason this team has fallen in the rankings. Williamson's absence last week led to a 2 point loss, and Harden and Lillard's absences led to a loss the week before. The loss the week before that Lillard was out, so the 76ers getting healthy for the playoffs are the biggest need right now.
12 3 88 Phi 9-2 The 76ers could very well be the favorites for the championship. With the experience that they have and the amount of depth. This team does not have a weakness, the injury to Zion Williamson really hurts them, but the amount of depth will certainly help them there.
11 4 88 Phi 9-2 Good deal: Rudy Gay deal: After months shopping in discord, forum, radio, twitter and even in NBA 2k pre games AD, vt finally got something from Bojan. 2K is not treating Bojan so well. He is in a free fall from 81 to 75 ratings, so I believe it was a good decision to drop his salary. Meh deal: Bmac deal: TJ is having a huge season coming from 75 to 79 in NBA Indiana. I think Philly would take something better if they waited a little more...
10 1 101 Phi 10-2 The rich get richer. The 76ers recently added Isaiah Thomas via a 10 day contract. Did they need him? Probably not. But you can never have too much talent.
9 3 99 Phi 10-1 A second loss on the season (oh, the horror) has sent Philly on a slight tumble in the Power Rankings but they're still atop the NLL in the standings. As long as they keep signing every free agent in sight, they should be fine.
8 5 106 Phi 10-1 The 76ers have the best record in the league... yet somehow they’re sitting at 5th...? Idk, don’t ask me. Harden, who was subject to some trade rumors over the summer, has been dominant alongside his partner in crime, Damian Lillard. New addition Kyle Anderson bolsters the bench for Philly, as they’ve set their eyes on dismantling the Bucks this year after getting ousted by them the previous year.
7 4 105 Phi 10-1 Philly may be best starting 5 in the league. There's not a single hole anywhere. You could maybe say SF is their weakest position but they've got great depth there too with rookie Saddiq Bey being a really good rookie so far. As we approach week 9, do they have a deal in them to solidify a championship-caliber roster?
6 3 107 Phi 10-1 Philadelphia took their 1st loss of the year last week, but at least it was against one of the other top teams in the league. The Sixers have not really had to worry about injuries and have not missed a beat so far. The team has depth and is very good up-top. Even when you look past the loaded starting 5 and see the young guys on this team, they are developing very well and have a very bright future. Look out for this team not only right now, but even for years to come.
5 3 101 Phi 10-0 Philly Philly! Finally took one in the loss collumn this week after a hard fought battle with the Clippers. Foul trouble early led Zion to the pine, and Philly into inputing Ben Mclemore at the 4. Rough to say the least. That being said all Philly has done has beat teams of late led by MVP front runner James Harden. Philly owns wins over CHA, OKC, and MIL. For what it's worth I would have Philly in the #1 or #2 spot here personally!
4 3 93 Phi 9-0 The only other team that is undefeated is at 3, the only reason is they have not played as many games yet. The two rookies have shown talent already, and this team looks very deep with a great duo of Lillard and Harden. Gobert is now locked up long term, and Philly will have their toughest task coming this week, the game vs Milwaukee. I am expecting this game to be close and could really go either way with Gobert guarding Giannis. If the 76ers beat the Bucks they should be undisputed #1 on next weeks Power Rankings.
3 6 87 Phi 9-0 Philly are the only other undefeated team going round now, but they're down in 6th because other than a thrilling 1 point defeat of the Thunder, and defeating the Hornets in the 1st game of the season, the big wins have come against teams with very few wins themselves and that's how the scaling has occurred. Perhaps if they'd have played 10 games though, that would be different. This year is a little different where we're not all on the equal games played! That doesn't take anything away from Philly though. They are undefeated because they have an Allstar line up starting and a couple of past Allstars on the bench, and they've been able to cover for the injured weeks of guys like Lillard and Gay already and still remain undefeated! They're just that good. Harden, is just that good.
2 7 61 Phi 6-0 Speaking of teams being ranked too low, what the hell are the Sixers doing down here at #7? Not only are they undefeated, but two of the teams ahead of Philadelphia in the rankings, Charlotte and Oklahoma City, each have one loss. Who'd that loss come against? Yep, Philadelphia. With a team boasting a lineup that includes Damian Lillard, James Harden, Zion Williamson and Rudy Gobert as their starters, how do you not consider them a title favorite? Were it not for injuries (and there will be many this season), I can't see the Sixers losing a game.
1 11 27 Phi 3-0 Harden...blah blah.... Harden... oh, and Lillard. Trading for Rudy was a big plus, as he's meshed well with the starters. However, there are injuries on the horizon, so don't expect this undefeated streak to last past week 2.
