Oklahoma City Thunder - Power Ranking

Week Rank Rating Team Record Comment
20 2 108 OKC 10-1 GM Nenjabin took a page out of Donald Trump's playbook: just tell everyone that Kawhi Leonard has a sprained knee long enough that they will believe it. The Thunder have been hiding the fact that Kawhi is more hurt than they want to let on. He will be on-hand for first few playoff rounds but when the tough gets going, the team will be without their star now that it has come out he tore his ACL. Still, it has been a dream season for Nenjabin and the Thunder. They finish out on top in the West and even down a few guys, they remain dangerous.
19 2 113 OKC 10-1 The Thunder may be the best team in the West, but Kawhi's on again/off again knee injury may potentially limit how far OKC can go in the post-season
18 2 118 OKC 10-1 The Thunder remains a top tier while being guided by one of the best duos the league has ever seen, Kawhi Leonard and Lebron James. At 10-1 in their last 11, they continue to be a model of consistency and their defense is STIFLING. At 90 PPG the Thunder have the best defense in the league, and when your unit is spearheaded by Lebron, Kawhi, and Draymond Green, that will come as no surprise. Look for the thunder to continue to and go all out on finishing the season strong and holding on to the number one seed.
15 4 82 OKC 8-3 The entire Western Conference is beset by the ever-oncoming roar of Thunder. Since the start of Week 14, when LeBron and Kawhi were finally both healthy, OKC has lost just one game (to Washington surprisingly enough). Right now it's a diet of weaker teams but Milwaukee and Charlotte are both up in the near future to test the Thunder for real.
14 15 49 OKC 6-4 OKC went through tough times, but injuries aren’t a big issue anymore with the top of roster guys being healthy. The Thunder are a good playoff team having two superstars and great role players. Kawhi recently won POTW too averaging 48.3 ppg! He’s also the scoring leader of the NLL at the moment, if he can bring that to the playoffs they will be hard to stop.
13 15 42 OKC 5-4 OKC has went through tough times as of late, but finally Lebron is back and ready to go. His injury dropped them down in the standings, but the seeding is not a big deal being in the West. The team is built around 2 superstars, so as long as they are healthy for playoffs it will be fine.
12 15 41 OKC 5-5 OKC have been going through a rough patch lately. Lebron and Kawhi were both hurt at the same time which led to a rough week. Kawhi is back now and Lebron should be too, as long as the team is good to go once playoffs start they are dangerous having two of the top players in the league.
11 6 77 OKC 7-4 Bad-ge Deal : Lebron is the badge king and can lead any team to the title. However, is it too late to have LeBron at this stage of his career? At this moment I would rather have CP3 and Jaren Jackson Jrn.
10 3 90 OKC 8-3 The recent acquisition of Alex Caruso has given the Thunder quite a lift in LeBron’s absence. OKC is top heavy enough to stay afloat near the top of the standings, but the bench combo of Caruso & Carmelo (a combined 21 ppg) definitely help raise the floor some.
9 1 112 OKC 10-1 OKC had a run of 25 wins in 26 games, including a win streak only matched by Philly's undefeated start to the season. But with LeBron out (Kawhi too this week), the Thunder may find it hard to retain the top spot in the west. 25-26
8 2 110 OKC 10-1 LeBron and Kawhi are undoubtedly the best duo in the game right now. (Who let this happen... oh wait...) The Thunder don’t quite have the ELITE depth (they’re still pretty dang deep) and youth that some of the other top teams have, but I’m sure Nenjabin could care less about that right now. The Thunder are currently winning their games by an average point differential of +32.
7 1 125 OKC 11-1 The "Lebron at Point" situation seems to be working swimmingly so far, averaging 22 8 and 9. With him and Kawhi, they can play with anyone, as proven last week when they eked out a 3 point win over fellow heavyweight LA Clippers.
6 1 132 OKC 11-0 It feels as if OKC has flown under the radar a bit. This may be because of the Western Conference not being as good, but OKC has been handling business. Lebron and Draymond are going to be out this week, but even with this happening, if Kawhi can carry the team through this tough week, it will show just how good this team is. OKC has a game versus the 2nd best team in the west, and I think this will be one of their toughest tasks this season.
5 2 116 OKC 10-0 The Thunder continue to cream teams week in and week out, a true tribute to GM Nenjabin's excellence. The Thunder have now won 13 in a row and 17 of 18. Good for second spot out West but tops amongst winning percentage across the NLL. Fun Fact: Lebron and Kawhi are the only players to win POTG honors for OKC this year. The current tally: Kawhi 15, Lebron 3.
4 4 89 OKC 8-1 OKC has looked tremendous so far with their only loss coming to Philadelphia by 1 point. The team has only really needed major contributions from Leonard and James, with Carmelo averaging the 3rd most points with 10.6 ppg. Everybody else has contributed here and there and it has worked. Lebron at PG has been a success, and outraged the league, but the loss to the 76ers shows that it is not unstoppable. Deandre Jordan has now joined the Thunder in exchange for Javale and Ntilikina, and the trade was great for the Thunder since Javale McGee has an expiring contract and Ntilikina has not really shown much.
3 4 93 OKC 9-1 OKC didn't like being bundled out of the playoffs in 7 games, again, in the conference finals, again, and decided the next day that it wasn't going to be for lack of trying that they make the Finals in 2021. They went and got Lebron, "mortgaging their future" to do so, and 9-1 behind an even next level Kawhi and Lebron making everyone better looks like the gamble is working for now. They're not as deep ranking wise as some of the others, but they are 8 deep on 2k players at least which makes a difference despite what they're doing in the NBA. The line up looks rock solid, with even Danny Green looking spry and effective and if they're healthy, you're going to have to come and play against them to get over the line because they will hit you on defense.
2 6 61 OKC 6-1 The Thunder are scary. Like the other top teams, they have been demolishing opponents. Kawhi has been leading the way for Oklahoma City, but they've also got this dude named Lebron who's been contributing on all ends of the floor. This team has a dangerous combination of scoring ability and lockdown defense, which makes them a challenging matchup for anyone. Which is why the team currently sitting atop the power rankings had their only loss come to this Oklahoma City team. The 6th spot in this list seems low for a team this good.
1 2 41 OKC 4-0 Power to the West! Lebron and Kawhi are a dynamic duo that are leaving cities trashed in their wake. There are a few challenges in the near future, but they have a relatively easy 1st third of their season.
