Brooklyn Nets - Power Ranking

Week Rank Rating Team Record Comment
20 12 59 Bkn 7-4 With so much talent, why so low? As Nets GM pointed out to me, the team had the worst final 10 games of all the playoff teams in the East. The Nets did have to shed some talent to avoid a quadrillion dollar lux fine but six top 100 ranked players should be playing better than they are. Lots of questions to answer soon: Is Curry really shooting good? Is Dontas too soft to start? Are the Nets really as good as they look on paper? Either way- the team should move Fox in the offseason for a legit two. The IND-BRKN series should be a cracker.
19 10 74 Bkn 8-3 One of the deepest teams in the league, the Nets have hit a rough patch recently (although hard to call 8-3 rough). Lets chalk it up to end of season fatigue.
18 6 89 Bkn 10-2 The Brooklyn Nets have been on fire offensively lately, and Wardell Stephen Curry has been at the forefront leading the charge. Steph has been on another level this season and is on pace to run away with the MVP award. When you average 40 a game, and are surrounded with guys like De'Aaron Fox, Caris Levert, and anchored with a versatile big man like Damontas Sabonis, you are bound to put up points. This team has the offensive output to keep up with any team in the league, but as the season winds down and the playoffs creep up, look for this team to try and get more comfortable on the defensive end to make a serious run at the championship this year.
15 9 61 Bkn 7-3 Brooklyn owns the East's longest active winning streak at 6 games. Steph Curry is doing Steph Curry things and averaging 46.7 points in said streak. He's also had seven straight 40-point games with three 50-point outings mixed in.
14 8 63 Bkn 7-4 Curry had a historic week averaging 50 ppg and leading the Nets to a 3-1 record on the week. The cap issues are really what has hurt them since lots of trades have hurt the quality of players on their roster. Curry and Middleton could be shopped soon, with Sabonis and Fox leading a small rebuild. They are definitely contenders, but with Fox’s extension soon to kick in it will likely have to change.
13 21 30 Bkn 4-7 The Nets have had to make some changes to help with their money problems and this has hurt the quality of the team. Adams was downgraded to Thad Young and Bjelica was downgraded to Mykhailiuk. The Nets are only going to pay 70 gm points as of right now which before it was over 200.
12 14 49 Bkn 6-5 Brooklyn has had to make moves to get below the cap and it has cost them some of the quality. The talent of this team is crazy, but injuries have not been in their favor. With De'aaron Fox having his contract extension kicking in next season, it will be interesting to see where this team goes.
11 18 34 Bkn 5-5 Take this salary from here deal: Nets sent away Adams salary to take less gm penalties on week 15. Is it worth the risk of losing Atlanta’s pick? Nothing happens deal: Markus Howard and 5 gm points for Chiozza is pretty much free 5 gm points.
10 6 77 Bkn 8-1 Caris Lavert is back and in week 10 was a total +20.3, which very well could spell trouble for opposing teams. The Nets are as tough as anyone at the top of the eastern conference.
9 6 80 Bkn 8-2 Since the team's 3-game losing streak that spanned Weeks 3 and 4, the Nets have won 18 of 20 games. Steph Curry's brilliant Week 8 helped with that, but more help from the supporting cast has been a boon as well.
8 6 97 Bkn 9-1 The Nets round out the “superteams” tier, les by their alternate universe “Splash Bros”, Curry and Middleton. Wizkid has been quiet this season, yet to make a move, but he seems content with the pieces he has. Fox and Sabonis have proven to be building blocks for the future, alongside the talent he has in the present. Also, he has Boban... who’s like, REALLY tall.
7 6 98 Bkn 9-1 Brooklyn to me are the clear 6th best team, and the line after which teams go from great to good. The talent they have can play with anyone, but the problem is that they basically have to make a move to shed some salary at some point. For them to sustain success, they'll have to do so without compromising too much roster-wise. Levert coming back gives them some extra punch, though.
6 5 85 Bkn 8-2 Brooklyn has been on fire as of late, Curry and Middleton had POTW nominations this week, and they are on an 8 game winning streak. Brooklyn with the roster they have now are contenders, but the biggest problem is money, they are due to pay a whooping 220 gm points for their luxury tax bill. The moves made will be interesting, and there will hopefully not be an affect on team success after.
5 6 79 Bkn 8-3 It's now up to 8 wins in a row for the Nets who had lost 3 back-to-back-to-back prior to that. Curry is lighting it up this season and meeting expectations but to the surprise of many Middleton has taken home 2 of the last 3 player of the game awards for the Nets. The offense is ran and propped up Curry but there are plenty of players supplying the team with exactly what is needed to rack up wins.
4 6 76 Bkn 8-4 Brooklyn is out Levert and Adams this week, but won by more than 50 over the Celtics who have Paul George and Russell Westbrook again. The problem with Brooklyn is how the luxury tax is dealt with. The team is currently above 200 gm points in luxury tax, and Deaaron Fox has a contract extension that will kick in this offseason. Steph Curry has been amazing and this team seems poised to make some noise come playoff time.
3 5 89 Bkn 9-3 Brooklyn are 9-3 which is a great start given they've already had injuries and may not actually get their entire best unit on the court all year, depending on Caris' health. Wiz knew this year was coming and keeping the family together was going to cost. It's a lux bill made in hell, if he keeps it all together, but could come down to about the Hornets level reasonably quickly if required. Curry is, as Curry does and his resurgence is the backbone to the Nets title hopes.
2 5 63 Bkn 6-2 They may have two losses already, but nobody will argue that the Nets are not one of the powerhouses of the Eastern Conference. Brooklyn had a heartbreaking collapse against the Clippers in week one and an odd hiccup against the struggling Cavs in week two. Aside from those two games, the Nets have been winning games handily, thanks largely to the efforts of Steph Curry who is currently averaging almost 40 points per game.
1 8 30 Bkn 3-1 Curry from three... every team's GM better get used to hearing that happen all year. The only way it won't is if he gets injured. This team is pretty stacked and has been making headlines with how bad they blew a few teams out.
