Cleveland Cavaliers - Power Ranking

Week Rank Rating Team Record Comment
20 29 -27 Cle 0-10 The Cavs suck. GM Brayden knew this would happen when he moved Lebron to the Thunder. BUT- they have Sexton and KAT. They don't have their own pick though. May take a little longer before CLE is back in contention.
19 28 -16 Cle 1-10 Brayden has done a great job navigating through a rebuild, but for the time being the Cavs are a miserable basketball team.
18 27 -8 Cle 2-10 The Cavs were a team that had a shot at the play in, but that ship has sailed. Now looking forward to an off season to retool, they are disappointed at a missed opportunity to make the playoffs, but with KAT, Sexton, and a full off season to work, the future can be bright in a rainy city.
15 16 49 Cle 6-6 Cleveland is 7.0 games behind the Hawks for the play-in. Will trading for KAT push them there?
14 26 -3 Cle 2-10 Cleveland is a big player here at the deadline. Already trading Bamba and with KAT in as their cornerstone their future looks bright. Brayden has really turned the franchise around trading away Lebron and Drummond to kickstart a rebuild. The Cavs will likely not be able to make the playoffs this year being too far back and the East being very good. The playoffs could be possible next year though!
13 18 32 Cle 5-6 Jaren Jackson has returned recently, so the front office must be happy. The last 10 games have resulted in a 2-8 record. Oubre being injured is not good, hopefully they are able to resign him this offseason. The roster is solid and are looking to more of the future than right now.
12 24 17 Cle 4-7 The Cavs were in the playoff picture early on but have since fell out. JJJ is finally making his debut, but the Cavs future looks bright with all of the youth they have brought onto the team. The Cavs could be close to competing for the playoffs next season if things fall their way.
11 15 36 Cle 5-6 Avoiding deal: Cavs recognized their lack of chances in Eastern Conference sending away Lebron James to OKC. Cleveland got a good package with JJJ, CP3, Huerter, Dort, #14, #19, & 10 GM pts. A end of an era. Good at the moment but not so good right now deal: CP3 for 2 picks. Nets was a late pick however everyone thought Pacers would be close to a lottery pick and it’s not anymore. CP3 is could have more return than this.
10 27 -2 Cle 2-10 Cavs clearly have their eyes set towards the future, but have pieces they can use to acquire win now guys. In the interim, Colin’s Sexton 25/6/3 splits should be good enough to garner MIP consideration
9 24 3 Cle 2-9 Cleveland won four straight games spanning eight days back in February. Since Feb. 24 (the final win in that streak), the Cavs have won three games and collected 15 losses.
8 28 -9 Cle 1-9 Welp, that’s me... not the powerhouse they once were, Cleveland’s off-season firesale has resulted in a tumble down the standings. The Cavs have been patient with Jaren Jackson Jr’s recovery, anticipating to see how he fits with the young core when healthy. Brayden has been stockpiling youngsters and picks, in an effort to establish another future superteam in Cleveland.
7 26 5 Cle 2-8 Cleveland is a team that is building up for the future as many others are, but they have some nice young pieces in Sexton and JJJ (once he comes back). However, this year at least, they'll be picking in the top 10. They're a step above the bottom teams though.
6 17 31 Cle 4-6 Cleveland has now lost 6 games in a row. The Cavs are waiting for their cornerstone, Jaren Jackson Jr to return as well as the additions of Kris Dunn and Zach Collins. Sexton has been a big storyline of the Cavs year and Aaron Gordon played very well, but has been dealing an injury since Week 3. The Cavs are rebuilding so this is not a setback to the franchise, and the team success earlier in the season is enough to show how good the team could be.
5 11 40 Cle 5-5 CLE has surprised many including myself to open up the season. The major injuries the team has endured are basically folk tale at this point of the season. Will this team catapult into playoff contention once they can get the team healthy? Right now they are relying heavily on Mo Bamba down low, and Collin Sexton to carry the offensive load.
4 11 49 Cle 6-3 Collin Sexton has shown out and led the Cavs to be in the playoff picture. He's has averaged 22 ppg and 6.2 assists. As Mo Bamba is now back he has dominated, and Xavier Tillman has played pretty well too. The Cavs have still not seen the debuts of Jaren Jackson Jr, Kris Dunn, and Zach Collins. The Cavs look to be in good shape with 3 1st round picks in this years draft too. Aaron Gordon has also been hurt, and Harrison Barnes now joins him. With the team rebuilding, they have already passed expectations and look to be in good hands.
3 21 23 Cle 4-6 Brayden's faith in Collin Sexton is prevailing right now and this writer for one has to tip the hat because I was not on board. Of course, he's playing the 2 guard which makes a s*** tonne more sense really, but he's a walking bucket and the Cavs while not winning, aren't feeling the "after Lebron" effects at all when you look at the way they remade that roster with youth and talent, and they haven't even seen JJJ on the court yet! It's all coming together nicely for one of the most storied NLL teams in the new post Lebron era, and they look to be in great hands of Brayden.
2 16 19 Cle 3-4 What to make of this Cavs team. They opened the season with three straight losses and have since bounced back with four wins in five games. Maybe Cleveland has got some things figured out and they're ready for greater things. Collin Sexton has been having a great start to his season with 23 points and 7 assists per game. Mo Bamba has also been impressive, averaging almost 14 points, 14 rebounds, and 3 blocks per game. Keep an eye out for the Cavs. They could be dangerous.
1 19 5 Cle 1-3 This is Sexton's team. He is the Cle star. Gordon is playing well and Bamba too, but the team needs more from Barnes and that albatross of a contract. They are stuck with him for the next 4 years, so they gotta try to get him involved. It will be nice to see JJJ, Dunn and Collins when they all suit up with the 1st unit.
