The votes are in and final, and here we announce the Players of the Week
and Rookies of the Week for Week 6!
East
POTW – Andre Drummond
He came close the week before, but possibly his slightly worse efficiency
saw him pipped…so he went back and shot it 67% this week instead of 62%, 73% FT
instead of 70% and only 0.8 turnovers compared to 1. He takes the award. Of
course, 25.4 points a game (down on the week before by 5 points mind you), 15.6
rebounds, 1 assist, 2.6 steals and 1 block played a bi hand too. Drummond has
been a monster in Cleveland for years, but not quite like this! Congrats big fella.
West POTW
– Aaron Gordon/Joel Embiid
We have a good old fashioned tie folks! Embiid claimed more preference
votes, while Gordon had more 1st place votes, but it equated to the
same number of voters points! Embiid smashed out 27 points, 12.8 rebounds, 3.5
steals and 1.8 blocks, while Gordon had a 40 point game last week on his way to
29 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 2.4 steals and 48% shooting from deep on
9 attempts a game! Talk about killer weeks from 2 rising stars of the game!
West
ROTW – Josh Jackson
The Clippers complete the double winner this week and Jackson really
busted out. He doubled his minute output and tripled his averages with 18.2
points, 2.6 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 1.4 steals on 51% shooting including 38%
from deep on 4 attempts a game. The Clips have been pushing through injuries
lately but the growth of some of these guys is encouraging for their continued
push towards success.
East
ROTW – Ben Simmons
Who
else? The man nearly averaged a triple double! 20 points, 8 rebounds, 11.5 assists,
2.3 steals and 0.8 blocks. He can do it all. Imagine when he gets a jumpshot?
He went 0/8 from deep last week. He has had his troubles with turnovers, 5.8 a
game again last week which could be a factor into why “they suck” too, but as
his handles grow and he cuts those down, the Pistons will move forward.
Congratulations to the
winners in Week 6 and may the odds be forever in your favour!
