The votes are in and final, and here we announce the Players of the Week
and Rookies of the Week for Week 4!
East
POTW – Kristaps Porzingis
The Hornets went 4-0 and Zinga dropped 48 and 44 in consecutive games, so
it;’s little wonder he claimed the award this week! He poured in 35.5 points
while adding 9.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1 steal and 1.3 blocks on 64% shooting,
40% from deep and 86% from the line on 11 attempts a game. He’s been balling
all season, but he really put it together this week and should see no signs of
slowing down!
West POTW
– Rudy Gay
The Blazers were lambasted for going after Rudy Gay last season, but Toby
knew what he was doing and how he would do it. The plan worked and here he is
Player of the Week for week 4 on the back of 36.3 points, 8.3 rebounds and 3.3
assists on 50% shooting, 88% from the line on 10.5 attempts a game and 32% from
deep. In a engine that suggests going big at the 4 is a good thing, Gay has
been an aboration amongst the trees continuing his rich history of 2k genius.
West
ROTW – Lonzo Ball
Player of the Month one day, Player of the Week the next. Lonzo is
cleaning up right now after averaging 13 points, a season high 10.3 assists,
4.8 rebounds and 2.5 steals in Week 4 despite his percentages dipping a little.
He’s working like magic with the big Zubat, but he’s going to have to manage
those turnovers as he did pile up 7 a game…which was also a season high. None
the less, it’s his team now.
East
ROTW – Ben Simmons
Like
Lonzo, he was just announced as Rookie of the Month, and now he’s back at
Rookie of the Week. He had his best week of the season in the 4th
week going 21.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, 8.8 assists and 1.5 steals on 55%
shooting. Also like Lonzo, he needs to cut down on his 5.5 turnovers a game,
but he’s going to push for triple doubles all year in Detroit, which makes him
the continued favourite for the end of season award.
Congratulations to the
winners in Week 4 and may the odds be forever in your favour!
