The votes are in and final, and here we announce the Players of the Week
and Rookies of the Week for Week 2!
East
POTW – Karl-Anthony Towns
Week 2 was the week of the Buck and KAT blasted his opponents away to a
4-0 week and a massive +20 for himself on the week, helping earn POTW. He
poured in 29.5 points in only 31.5 minutes and hauled down 13.8 rebounds, while
also piling up 1.8 assists, 2.5 steals and 1.3 blocks. He shot it 66% from the
field, 50% from deep and 84% from the line, and his amazing week was
highlighted by a 43 point outburst against the Chicago Bulls. Who needs cities,
when you have Towns.
West POTW
– Anthony Davis
Anthony Davis is always here, like, always here. So, it’s no surprise
that we see Anthony Davis, here. 36 points a game this week highlighted by two
40 point games, while adding 10 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.8
blocks. He shot 61% from the field and 83% from the line and just quietly
reminded the league that the Spurs are the reigning champs. Imagine having 2
Brows…
West
ROTW – Jayson Tatum
JayTat…yeah that one won’t stick…went for double figures in every game
this week on his way to the Rookie of the Week award for a winning Memphis
team. He averaged 14.8 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists while shooting 51% from
the field, 38% from deep and 88% from the line. The wing future of the Grizz is
safe and sound with this man, and with Frankie Smokes looking solid too, they
may have made a great deal on draft day moving Fox.
East
ROTW – Ben Simmons
Did
you know that Ben Simmons is playing this season? Well it took him only 2 weeks
to claim a ROTW award after he moved back to SF and had two 20 point games
including a career high 29. He averaged 18.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, 5.8 assists,
1 steal and 1.8 blocks on 54% shooting and started to show the league why
Laddas loves him. Go get ‘em Simmo!
Congratulations to the
winners in Week 2 and may the odds be forever in your favour!
