The votes are in and final, and here we announce the Players of the Week
and Rookies of the Week for Week 5!
East
POTW – Kevin Durant
33.2 points, 6.6 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 1.8 steals and 0.8 blocks per
game on 53% shooting and 96% from the line, leading his team to 5-0 for the
week? Yep, POTW for sure. KD takes the award for the 2nd time this
year and the Celtics are loving life at this point of time on top of the Power
Rankings also. If KD keeps this up, they’re going to be mighty tough to beat
with their other depth.
West POTW
– CL McCollum
The Wolves are alive. They had their 1st winning week of the
season, they have a new un-salty GM and now CJ claims an award. He had a crazy
+20 on the week while averaging 31 points, 3 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 2 steals,
only 1.3 turnovers, and crazy 56% shooting, 60% from deep and 100% from the
line. Is 50/60/100 even a thing? It is now! Crazy numbers from CJ and the
Wolves look to be back on track. Josh is a lucky man.
West
ROTW – Jayson Tatum
Tatum claims this award for the 2nd time as he cracks the 20
points per game mark for the 1st week of this season! It surely won’t
be the last such week of his career, and the man he was traded for on draft day
is already on his way to new city. 20 points, 2.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1
steal and 0.8 blocks as the offence was turned over to the rookie in Week 5.
Look for plenty of the same as the season progresses.
East
ROTW – Lauri Markkanen
3
chances, 3 wins. Markkanen has little opposition in the East for this award
outside of Ben Simmons, and he jjst turned in by far his best week of the year.
14 points, 9.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 2.3 steals and 1 block on 56% shooting,
38% from deep and 84% from the line. Those are veteran numbers!
Congratulations to the
winners in Week 5 and may the odds be forever in your favour!
