Every match up has gone 7 games and on the eve of the decider against the Sixers and the Cavs we recap the game six affair that is ether brutally stringing the Cavs along to a game 7 defeat seeing the Sixers advance or the next step towards an upset victory after being down 3-1.
Cavs front court finally came to play as they combined for 39 points and 21 rebounds shooting 16-21 from thew field. This is the kind of impact that was expected heading into this series that was going to be the major difference maker but the SIxers have proved too savy to let the Cavs big men just walk all over them. This Sixers franchise and coaching staff are well known for their adjustments on the fly and feel for the game, being able to exploit any match up to their favour. In saying that the (Almost to late) changes buy the Cavs coaching staff to scrap the MCW project and bring in young up start Harrison has been golden. He contained Lillard to 14 points on 5-22 from the field; a massive fete when Lillard has been balling all series averaging nearly 30 points a contest. MCW also flourished in his role off the bench in place of Covington carrying the bench and trying to mimic the kind of impact CJ had on the other end. The Biggest glaring factor on the box score is the fact defensive anchor Gobert was done in 19 minutes fouled out of the game at the 6:15 mark in the fourth just trying to keep Drummond off the boards. Cavs were able to run home with it expelling any chance the Sixers had at a come back on the road to close out the series.
The people want a 7th game and its what they got. The Cavs head back to the Sixers home court and try to finish this dream run back into contention for the series as their hosts look to make a point that even without Kawhi they’re still able to dominate their opponents. Good luck! |
