NLL Insider - Team by Team: Houston Rockets by sheed36, updated on Wednesday, October 01 2014, 02:26 pm EST 2013-14 Record: 22-60Sad and boring history in Houston last season. Nothing happened
according the plan, 3 different gms, a big injury and nobody steping up
for this team. Now Houston new gm have a lot work to do on free agency
and aging Kobe Bryant big salary. Season HighlightWeek number one, Kobe healthy, 35 points per game. That was a good dream. Season lowlightThe
entire 19 other weeks after Kobe Bryant injury his ankle, Andrew Bynum
started to shine but Bynum soon became trouble and then gm Dare made a
very smart move trading him away along side Lance Stephenson to New
Orleans. Few months later gm Dare resigned and that sealed the season
for Houston Rockets. Best TradeThe
Houston Rockets send Andrew Bynum, Lance Stephenson and Khris Middleton
to the New Orleans Pelicans. The New Orleans Pelicans send Jarrett
Jack, Xavier Henry and Nikola Vucevic to the Houston Rockets. The
Houston Rockets send a 2nd-Rounder (Hou) to the New Orleans Pelicans.
The New Orleans Pelicans send a 1st-Rounder (NO) to the Houston
Rockets. Close
call on that time but now with Bynum in big trouble and Lance on the
way out of New Orleans. This trade was really good for Houston future.
Vucevic with 14 points per game and 11 rebounds was best player on the
floor in Houston and might be great side kick for Kobe Bryant this
season. Worst TradeThe Houston Rockets send Trevor Ariza to the Toronto Raptors. The Toronto Raptors send Jeff Taylor to the Houston Rockets. The Toronto Raptors send a 2nd-Rounder (Tor) to the Houston Rockets. The Houston Rockets trade -10 GM points. The Toronto Raptors receive 10 GM points. Taylor became pretty much nothing in The Rockets slim roster, Ariza in Toronto improved with 14 points per game. Other notable tradeThe
Houston Rockets send Jarrett Jack to the Orlando Magic. The Orlando
Magic send Randy Foye and Marcus Morris to the Houston Rockets. Another
good one for Houston. Foye became a beast in Houston with 23 points per
game, and Morris off the bench is a good piece. They still under
contract. StarRandy Foye Foye
came mid season and got his spot on the starting lineup. With a amazing
outside game Foye was able to make 23 points per game. Can he repeat
next season? GoatGm Dare and Kobe Bryant Putting
all the hopes on an aging playing is a bad move. Kobe started well but
maybe Houston could do a better move with that 2013 first round. Maybe
the same thing Celtics did. Or maybe drafting a good player like
Oladipo. 2014 Draft ReportHouston
Drafted the young big man Aaron Gordon just after trading away there
New Orleans first pick for Thomas Robinson. I really wish i could
understand this move. The athletic big man Gordon still raw but can
improve throughout the year, same as Robinson. Free agentsKobe Bryant Jordan Farmar Steve Blake Lavoy Allen Jeff Adrien Xavier Henry Rashard Lewis Kobe
is a must and he already said he is coming back but still have a little
chance to leave so Houston must be careful. Farmar and Blake could be
handy and Gm SpudSpace should consider them too Looking to the futureNew
gm spudspace have work to do. Free Agency is coming and he needs to
decide who stay and who leave. Bryant is back of course but for how
long, also he 36 years old and Houston need to find another way to score
for the future. Houston need to keep him and build around him a young
squad. Spudspace seems to be a smart guy and will do the best option |
