In a matchup of the two O'Neals the elder and his team prevailed. But it wasn't Jermaine's fault for once. He held his ground with 28 and 12 against Shaq's 22 and 16. But he didn't get any help other than from Miles. Nash was 5-25 and the rest of the team was just as bad.
In another nailbiter without a recap, the Bobcats edged the LeBrons from LA by a single point in overtime. The Clippers received a monster-game from none other than Dahntay Jones, who finished with 35 points, one more than James, and was 13-14 from the line. But it wasn't enough against a deep Bobcats team, that had six players score 16 or more.
The Nets had only lost once so far, in overtime. The Kings, at 3-4, were sitting better than anyone would have expected prior to the season. This game turned into a battle between veteran Wade against newcomer O.J. Mayo, and the rookie not only won the matchup, but led his team to victory.
Neither played especially good defense, but on offense both sizzled. Wade shot 10-15 for 27 points and proabably should have gotten even more touches down the stretch. Meanwhile Mayo was 13-21 with three three-pointers and finished with a career-high 36.
Chump of the Week: Will Bynum EFF 0.3, 28.8 mpg
None of the big names delivered a terrible week, so this questionable honor goes to Cleveland starting point guard Will Bynum, who led his team, that failing to surpass 87 points in each of it's four games, to a 1-3 week.
Bynum played only one minute during the first week, but was named a starter for the second. He responded by shooting 2-35 from the floor. He did put up a nice 5.8 assists, but 6% shooting over four games? Come on.
