New Orleans, LA - the 2017 NLL Allstar Weekend got off to an exciting start with the 3 Point Challenge. The star studded lineup included James Harden & Kyrie Irving from the East-leading New York Knicks, C.J. McCollum from the Sixers, Kevin Durant from the Boston Celtics, Steph Curry from the Bulls and Paul George from Minnesota. The crowd was amped up for the event and the shooters didn't disappoint with their performances.

First Round

James Harden - The Beard got off to a fantastic start, hitting 7 of his first 10 attempts. He would drain his last four shots as well, and canned 4 money balls in route to a 21 point performance. This would set the pace for the round and secured him a spot in the finals.

C.J. McCollum - the Sixers guard got off to a strong start on the first rack, hitting 4 of 5, including the money ball. Over the next 3 racks, he would only make 5 of 15, but ended strong with 4 of 5 on the last rack. His score: 16 points

Kyrie Irving - old man Drew started out by making his first two, but then missed three straight. His second rack was 4 of 5, with the money ball. The 3rd and 4th racks were weak with only 5 points. Like the other competitors, he too made 4 of 5 on the last rack to end of with a score of 16 points, tying McCollum.

Kevin Durant - KD wasn't feeling it. He only hit 4 of his first 13 attempts. His 4th rack was 4 of 5 with a money ball to make it respectable, but then he only made 1 of 5 on the final rack, getting eliminated with only 13 points.

Steph Curry - Curry got out to a strong start hitting 4 of 5 on the first rack. He cooled on the 2nd, making only one. His third rack mirrored the first rack. He hit 3 shots on each of the final two racks, including the money balls, to squeak out a score of 17 points.

Paul George - the final participant to go, George would only make the money ball on the first rack. He hit for 4 points in the 2nd rack, 2 on the third and fourth, and then finished strong with 4 of 5 on the final rack. A score of only 15 points would also end his night early.

Tie-Breaker Round

With McCollum and Irving tied for 3rd at 16 points each, a 24 second "shoot off" took place.

C.J. McCollum: miss, make, miss, make, money ball on the first rack. CJ hit ALL his shots on the second rack, to reach 10 points before the buzzer.

Kyrie Irving: Kyrie hit 2, missed 3 on the first rack. His second rack went make, make, miss, miss, make. Only 6 points in 24 seconds, and Kyrie's night was over.

Finals

McCollum, Curry and Harden in the finals, with CJ going first due to his lowest score in round 1.

C.J. McCollum: he picked up where he left off in the tie-breaker, hitting all of his rack 1 balls. His second rack was 4 points, and the third was only 2 points. However, he ended both the 4th and 5th racks with 4 straight makes. CJ finished with 22 points.

Steph Curry: the Bulls star hit 4 of 5,2 of 5, 3 of 5, 1 of 5, and finished with 4 of 5. His 4 money balls were not enough to secure the victory as he closed out with 16 points.

James Harden: James nailed 3 money balls in the final round, and had at least 3 shots go in on each rack... his score of 20 would fall short however.

Congrats to C.J. McCollum on the well deserved victory!
