Rookie of the Year: 06/09/2021
This years rookie
race was one of the closest overall classes from recent memory. We had a number
of rookie of the week award winners in both conferences and the All-Rookie team
voting saw a near unanimous top 7 rookies of the class also.
In terms of
the top rookie award, the race was hot out of the blocks with James Wiseman and
LaMelo Ball vying for weekly awards on the regular until Wiseman went down injured,
for the year. Ball saw a stint on the sidelines also which at least opened the
door for someone else to steal the award away from he who was left standing,
but when he came back and finished the year strong, the award was a runaway,
near unanimous result. James Wiseman finished 2nd, and Anthony
Edwards capped out the top 3, but the winner…
