Mixing it up

The Cleveland Cavaliers have started the season really well, even with all the topsy turvy results. It brings a smile to the GMs face seeing some of the results, everyone loves an underdog.

The starting line-up has changed each week this season, and will continue to do so.

There is 3 main reasons for this:

-       Through recruiting, we now have more depth than ever

-        Injuries will always play a part

-        The team wants to keep other GMs on their toes with their testing and preparation.

This week we face the prospect of 3 starters from last week, who were undefeated, not being available.

Point Guard:

Everyone expects Lebron James to be the point guard for this team, he is our best player, and he makes all the other players around him better. The rule change has opened up this opportunity, we might see it during the year at times, ideally we think our rotation of 4 point guards can get the job done. The team currently projects Milos to be the starter, but no position is secure

Shooting Guard/Small Forward

The wing man rotation has so much flexibility. We have a defensive specialist in Tony Allen, we have one of the best 3 and D players in the game in Robert Covington, Terrance Ross who can score in bunches and the best player in the game in Lebron. Malcolm Delaney is probably the other name we can throw in the mix here, he is a very handy Shooting Guard with great shooting ratings.

Power Forward/Center

Big men have taken over the game, we look at the MVP board, 7 of the 10 players are all big men. This is the position we may see the least changes, having both starters in the top 10 players in their position, Drummond and Ibaka.  Marreese Speights is absolutely dominating as 6th man, scoring 16ppg in 18 minutes, playing primarily as PF and the player who covers all the extra minutes with either Ibaka or Drummond in foul trouble.  The interesting thing to mention here, both Koufas and Bogut are starting quality centers, and to keep in line with mixing things up Drummond will be playing Power Forward this week.
