Suns in review

Heading into week 11, the Suns find themselves in 9th place, a full game out of the 8th seed in the West.  The problem is that all the teams above the Suns are as good or better.  Below the Suns are about 2-3 teams that are also as good or better, which means the Suns really have their work cut out for them if they want to sneak into the playoffs.  Week 11 is the 2nd most difficult week in the season for the Suns, as their opponents have a .588 winning percentage.  The toughest week was week 2, when opponents had a .594 win percentage.  Week 12 doesn’t do the Suns any favors either, as their opponents have a .566 win percentage.  Fortunately for Phoenix, from week 13 on, they only have 2 weeks remaining where their opponents have over a .500 record.  The last half of the season is primed for the Suns to make their run at a potential playoff spot.

To catch you up with the Suns IR, Davon Reed was called up for a few days, but stated his knee didn’t feel 100%, so the Suns reassigned him back to NAZ Suns in the G league, until he is more confident in his knee.  As he is in the perfect mold of a 3 and D winger, the Suns decided not to risk reinjury.

Glenn Robinson III is still out, but is practicing with the team and has begun 5 on 5 scrimmages, so he is expected to return sometime around the All Star break.  Gordon Hayward has finally taken the walking boot off, and has been seen swimming and set shooting, but there is still no timetable for his return.  The Suns are obviously going to err on the side of caution with their newly acquired star, so unless they are in the playoff hunt, it’s expected that Gordon won’t see action until next season.
