Michael Beasley

Welcome to Minnesota Michael Beasley!  This will be his 9th team in the NLL since he was drafted 1st overall by Golden State in 2008.  He was a much-coveted free agent this season with 13 teams and a total of 65 GM points thrown at him.  He barely decided on coming to the T-Wolves ahead of Sacramento with the main deciding factor being the extra 5 GM points we put on him over the Kings.

The main goal in the offseason was to bring in a legit backup power forward who could score.  The team had two names on the docket in Beasley and Ian Clark, and we got 1 of 2, so the weekend was considered a win.  Beasley slides right in as the go-to scorer off the bench, he’s proven he can be a big-time scorer in the NLL with a career scoring average of over 16 points a game.  He’s started for most of his career, only coming off the bench for a total of 10% of his time.

The team is coming into shape now with everyone healthy except Wayne Selden and Glenn Robinson 3.  This is a blow though because both players are going to split time at backup shooting guard.  Until they get healthy, Et’waun Moore will be filling in as both backup point guard and shooting guard.

Trade rumors continue to swirl around Jeff Teague, as he has been shopped around, with players like Isaiah Thomas, and Jamaal Murray being discussed, but nothing has happened yet.  If Jeff is on the roster opening night, expect to see him here for a bit.  This year, the team wants to try to have a bit more continuity throughout the year.  As long as the team is performing well, we hope to retain the players.  We all know that the front office likes to make a lot of moves, but the goal has always been to put our stamp on this team.  Spudspace had made remarks that he feels confident of this team and has big hopes this season!
