Off season priorities

How to judge the season that's been? Making the playoffs and bouncing out quickly wasn't great for the long term prospect of the team, it was a fun extension of the season that originally had looks like it was a wasted year.

The Nuggets head into the offseason with 12 players that they have under contract or look like they may return. Mike Conley is the primary returning target for the team, after he signed a sweet 3 year deal in Utah for around $23M per year. 

The next player that the team will target for a return will be Nerlens Noel. The last time Nerlens entered the free agent market as a Nugget he opted to test the market and moved to Memphis. The team hopes that history doesn't repeat itself and they can find a way to retain his services. As he signed over the MLE, and he doesn't have bird rights, Nerlens will need to be retained into capspace. This could be a challenge but the team does have the flexibility to retain him if he decides to stay.

The biggest return for the team will be Jonathon Isaac, having sat all of last season and only having suited up for 118 NLL games through out his whole rookie contract, the team is hopeful that his injury woes are behind him and they can move forward with the long athletic prospect. 

Hopefully the team will also see some more games from Udoka Azuibuke who has looked dominant in NBA summer league games for Utah. If he can continue his potential to be an All-Glitch player who may actually be a good NBA player, then the team would have solved its issues with offensive rebounding that it saw become apparent after Tristan Thompson was shipped out.

What the team is missing is a dominant scoring wing, Miles Bridges teased his ability at the end of the NBA season as that guy, but we won't get our hopes up that he is taking that next step. The only other way to get that player is to find a trade partner to find someone elite. Who knows who may become available during free agency?
