A Look Back On The Season...

The rockets end the season 44-28 and the 4 Seed in the western conference with homecourt in the first round. A very up and down season for the Rockets as they begin the season 6-2 and a 6 game winning streak that lead them straight into losing 8 of 10 shortly after that. With the season being up and down, that led to a parting of the front office about mid season, Rockets were then looking for some type of leadership and in stepped Patrik Shehu and his staff. Patrik was rumored to become a GM of a few teams but the Rockets is where he eventually ended up and immediately became hands on with the team and trying to right the ship.

Right away, Patrik and his staff started to snoop around the league and figure out who was shopping what around the league. They had Tobias Harris who was on a HEFTY contract and they wanted to find a way to flip him while his stock was high. They did just that with their Trade for Jerami Grant and Marcus Morris who have helped out Nikola Jokic tremendously on both sides of the ball. Since the trade the Rockets have managed to pull off a 22-10 record which got them to jump up to that 4 spot and take home court for the first round. Other players have stepped up as well, with very solid point guard play from both Tomas Satoransky and Saban Lee (who had a surprisingly very solid rookie campaign). Tyler Herro, who seemed to be very off & on, has played very well in his new 6th man role, on top of the bench becoming deeper with the return of Josh Hart

Rockets GM Patrik Shehu had this to say…

“We can look back on what we did this season and be happy about it. From the move we made, to the adjustments we made throughout lineups, getting players in their correct roles and spots, we can be happy. But Happy doesn’t mean satisfied, we want to compete this post season with the best of them and really show people that we have arrived.”
