Sixers Press Conference
01-19-2018
PHILADELPHIA-
The Sixers GM met with reporters today for a rare, if somewhat contentious press
conference. The beleaguered GM, whose job may be on the line, seemed tired and
defensive. Take a look at an excerpt below…
The Sixers are having their worst seasons
in a decade. Why can’t you guys simply win some games.
It’s
been a rough season with injuries. Our stars have missed so many games. Yes, we
have some depth, but we’re getting hammered each week. Kawhi Leonard and Rudy Gobert
have missed most of the season. How can we win when our stars are on the bench?
We get the injuries thing, but even when
your team is close to full strength, the players are not pulling their weight.
Damian Lillard seems lifeless out there sometimes.
Hey
now, he is ranked 32nd in the league. I wouldn’t call that lifeless.
Well, he isn’t helping you guys win
games. And what about Will Barton? He couldn’t buy a shot.
Barton
has been traded.
Speaking of trades, how can you expect
to win when you trade your team each and every week? You got guys going on out
on the floor next week who haven’t even played a game for you this season. I
count five.
We
are trying to win now and plan for the future. Besides Lou Williams, we don’t
have any major unrestricted free agents for next summer. Barton, Avery Bradley
and Brook Lopez all intimated they wanted to test the market.
More like rats on a sinking ship!
We’re
only a game and a half out of the playoff hunt. There is still half a season left!
Not if you keep trading. Is Laddas
running this team?
I
would like to point out that Pistons are doing even worse than we are.
But they beat you last time around.
Yes,
I know.
What do you think of Will Smith as an
actor?
Have
a nice day, folks.
