RUDY

The offseason acquisition and new face to the franchise is paying dividends thus far. If you follow the basketball at all you'd know I'm talking about Rudy Gay. What Achilles in jury you might say. He is looking fresh and moving like it's his freshman year.

The Portland trailblazers have surpassed any expectations the great unwashed would have had. This would be the first time in what has felt like decades, that The Blazers are over .500. They are currently sitting 5th in the West, with a 9 wins, 8 losses record. The question is, Can they keep it up? 

If Rudy can keep up his current production of averages of almost 29 points per game, almost 8 rebounds and over 1.5 steals per game.

These great stats are not all he has brought to the club. His chemistry With big man Ian Mahinmi has really helped his production. Mahinmi said in a post game interview that “playing along side Rudy has been tasty. he is drawing so much attention and spacing the floor for me to go to work in the paint”. Mahinmi is averaging a double double on 18 points and 11 rebounds, with what would be career highs across the board.

The funny thing is there were whispers circulating that Rudy Gay was acquired as a piece to sign and move on for someone more in the age bracket of the youth movement. When the GM was questioned about this he stated, “ ill be honest, Rudy was acquired as i know he is a talent and once healthy is a desirable trade option. His current production and what he is doing to the guys around him makes it a tough call to move him on. That being said, I am listening to offers, because I’m positive there are other general managers out there who have recognised a guy with this ability on such a friendly contract could be the difference maker for their team.

Honest words from GM Toby, I would be looking at what i can do to get this talent if i was any of the other GMs because he truly could be the difference maker.
