Playoff bound

The NLL regular season has come to a close and the Spurs have managed to hold on to the number 1 seed. It has been a concerning final couple of weeks for the team with a few minor injuries and a GM tinkering, the team stumbled to a 4-6 record in their last 10.

Finishing the season with a 62-20 record is nothing to scoff at and the team is entering the playoffs looking to expand on an already successful season. The first round for the number 1 seed is usually seen as a walk in the park but the Spurs will have anything but.

The Houston Rockets are one of the hottest teams in the league over the last 4 weeks as they made a major charge to make the playoffs. With a big man inside that can disrupt as well as anyone, Whiteside poses some problems. Teamed up with Isaiah Thomas and Gordon Hayward, the Rockets have a formidable trio.

Joel Embiid underwent minor surgery on his meniscus on March 24 and while the timeline for weight bearing activities was just 2 weeks, getting him basketball ready this season is unlikely. Joining him in the Spurs cheer squad will be Andrew Bogut who broke his leg and will be out for the season and maybe the end of his career.

The biggest concern for the team will be the result of Will Barton's sore foot. He has been day to day for a week and a half and while the team is taking it careful with him it is likely we see him in the first round, hopefully towards the start.

With the match up set the fate of the team still resides on one mans shoulders, Anthony Davis, touted by many as the MVP this season, will have to carry the team as he has for the entire season if they are to make any noise in the playoffs. We are hearing that is is undecided how the team will look come the 1st game as a lot hinges on Will Barton's availability, but be sure the team will be more competitive than they have been in recent times.
