Another one

Another day, another trade for New Orleans. Not an exciting one by any means, and i assume everyone in the league threw up simultaneously at the sight of the the players being moved.

In battle of the bad contracts, Miles Plumlee and Wayne Ellington and the cavs 2019 second rounder make their way out the door of the Smoothie King Center, in exchange for Evan Turner and Alex Poythress.

Pretty underwhelming trade i know, and hard to pick a side you would want to be on. And even though there was a decent retrade fine hit, Im happy with the move and the way we are going.

The time had come to part ways with Miles Plumlee after his many chances in the pelicans line up. Averaging only 9 points and 8 rebounds in just under 30 minutes a game in a big man's league made me physically ill.
Evan Turner, yes on the worse contract at about 5 million more a season but he fits more in line with what the pelicans want and need. Only getting about 15 minutes a game at the moment for not much production, He will see that climb to a starting role with the current line up being very underwhelming due to injuries. He will be playing Point Guard for the time being until super star Reggie Jackson comes back, with a small forward and some back up playmaking role coming, with some nice defense hopefully when the sqaud is eventually at full strength.

Also incoming to the pelicans was a prospect by the name of Alex Poythress. Making his way from a two way contract to a fully guaranteed one this year .Poythress had averaged 20.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 2.7 assists in six games with the Mad Ants in the NBA G League this season. So although the risk is high we are hoping it translates to a future here at New Orleans and in the NLL.
