It only gets better right?

We're the Worst!

The Washington Wizards are having probably the worst season in this history of their franchise. After seven weeks of action, the Wizards only have won six games. After making the playoffs last season, the chances of making the playoffs this year are pretty much at zero percent. If the Wizards are lucky they will be able to match their all time low of 20 wins for a full season which they did during the 2013/2014 season. Sure they are rebuilding, and everyone expects the Wizards to be bad at this point in the rebuild process. But we didnt think the roster would be this bad. Right now the Wizards are the worst team in the league. What really makes that especially bad is the Rockets own the Wizards first round pick that was traded years ago in the deal for Carmello Anthony. But we cant look at past deals, only look forward in which direction the Wizards are going. They have some young guys like Julius Randle, Buddy Hield, Dragan Bender, Dillon Brooks, and Frank Mason. The Wizards also have nine first round picks over the next three drafts, which includes the Knicks, Bulls, and Twolves first rounders in the upcoming draft. So far those teams are playoff bound, so the chances of getting a lottery pick out of those picks are slim. Still we have seen really good players drafted late in the first round over the years. If GM Darko does his homework he can still find some of these gems in the draft.
Welcome Back Joe!

Joe Johnson returned to the Wizards this week and he did not disappoint. It was like the Joe of old, back when he played for the Wizards from the 2005/06 season to the 2008/09 season. Fans gave him a warm welcome in his return game against the Milwaukee Bucks. Joe ended the game with 15 points and 2 rebounds. But overall had a pretty good week, averaging 17.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.3 blocks. He may be older, and maybe a bit slower, but Joe still has game! Speaking of older players, Robin Lopez, Jamal Crawford, and Ish Smith are still looking for new homes. These guys are not in the Wizards long term plans, and im sure they would love to be traded to a playoff team. We have also heard that Andre Roberson, defensive specialist is on the block, as well as Christiano Felicio who is a good backup center. But with the depth the Wizards have up front its hard for Felicio to see game time minutes. The Wizards might start giving their younger guys more minutes in the second half of the season, so moving these veterans is on GM Darko's to do list.
