The Season Is Here
“It seems like forever ago that we thought Smokey might not pull through, but he is a fighter and his recovery and health are at an exceptional level now. We just hope we can make him proud of the things we do this season.” Rick Carlisle said.
With a complete overhaul of the roster, the Mavericks are set to debut two of their 3 lottery picks in the starting line-up this coming week. Lonzo Ball and Jonathan Isaac have both been hard at work over the off season and pre seasons to do everything they can to get ready for the year ahead.
“We have no expectations this year of our rookies.” Carlisle said. “We are looking forward to the growth of our young players and the team as a whole in the coming years. We are also passionate about the effort we put in on a nightly basis, making sure we improve on the little things each night.”
There will be plenty of healthy competition on the roster this year in the fight for minutes in Dallas. Rookie Bam Adebayo will be going head to head with 2nd year player Henry Ellenson. Alex Abrines, James Ennis and rookie Abdel Nader will also look to help each other strive to be able to crack the rotation, but it is widely tipped that James Ennis will be the man the Mavericks look too to bolster the wing position.
The Mavericks final depth chart heading into the season can be seen below, but we all know things can change pretty quickly in basketball.
