Pre-Season Jazz Hype!

The NLL season is fast approaching, and with that in mind we’ll take a quick look around the league to see how some Jazz players are doing on the other side of the basketball universe.

Let’s get to it!

-          Eric Gordon: Has been looking very good and seems comfortable in the Run N’ Gun offense Mike D’Antoni wants to employ as his offense. He’s given the green light to shoot as well as iniate the offense at anytime, and with the amount of attention James Harden demands of every defense, there will be plenty of open shots for Gordon to hit. He’s set to come off the bench as a “super sub” and will likely play a lot of minutes.

-          Victor Oladipo: Dipo has been pegged with the hard task of filling some of the void left by Kevin Durant in OKC, and it looks like he’s been meshing well with Russell Westbrook in the early going. The other night Dipo went off for 34 points in a fast paced game against European Powerhouse Real Madrid, a game in which they lost. The amount of poise and will he’s showing, tells us the move from Orlando might have been the best move for him, he looks ready to play heavy minutes and be unleashed as a major part of the Billy Donovan offense.

-          Julius Randle: Has been doing Julius Randle things, but now he’s looking to add a new facet to his offense, one that has been underrated in the past by many, but he’s looking for it more and more in games. Randle has been starting the fast break after a rebound quite a bit, because he grabs a lot of those, and just starts running full speed bringing the ball up and usually making the pass to an open teammate at the last second. It’s quite highlight, and he’s been doing it often, but the best part of it is that it leads to easy points and it shows his abilities as a facilitator. At his size, this is a scary proposition, but again, it shows his immense potential.

There it is, guys, a quick look at the Jazz players who’ve been making headlines in the early season. So far it looks like the Jazz offense will show lots of new layers compared to last season. The air is that of optimism.

Are you ready?
