Week 12 Injury Watch

TEAM INJURIES
Atlanta Hawks Markelle Fultz (Shoulder), Alexis Ajinca (Knee), Justin Patton (Toe), Isaiah Whitehead (G-League), DeAndre Bembry (G-League), Thabo Sefolosha (Knee), Patrick McCaw (Back),

Returning from last week: None

Outs: Patrick McCaw

Hawks has one of the longest injury lists in the league, newly acquired Patrick McCaw joins them really affecting the depth of the team. Atlanta have done an amazing job to win games with so many guys out. Its a good think 2k doesn't update ratings when guys are out, Fultz shooting ratings would make him almost unplayable.

Brooklyn Nets Cameron Payne (Foot), A.J. Hammons (G-League),

Returning from last week: DeAndre Jordan

Outs: None

Brooklyn with a huge return, the defensive anchor and ranked 18th in the league. After a tough week of results for the Nets, Plumlee moves back to his role in the second unit.

Boston Celtics Patrick Beverley (Knee), Tyreke Evans (Illness), Devin Harris (Personal), Dakari Johnson (G-League),

Returning from last week: None

Outs: Tyreke Evans, Devin Harris, Dakari Johnson

Boston had close to a full side last week, and it showed with an unbeaten week. This week will be a big test, losing starting PG Evans and starting SG Harris, Johnson will have to wait another week for his debut. Boston goes into the week with only 3 recognised guards, may see players getting a chance in new positions.

Charlotte Hornets Frank Jackson (Foot), Harry Giles (Knees), Myles Turner (Elbow), Evan Turner (Personal),

Returning from last week: Brandon Ingram

Outs: Evan Turner

Huge return with starting small forward Ingrams return, with Turner having a personal week, most likely after being told he is on the block for an upgrade. Myles Turner is the big injury that continues to effect the Hornets, after seeing the winning streak end, a new streak begins.

Chicago Bulls Damian Jones (CD), Mirza Teletovic (Knee), Joakim Noah (CD), Kyle Singler (CD), Isaiah Taylor (G-League), Reggie Bullock (Thumb),

Returning from last week: None

Outs: Isaiah Taylor, Reggie Bullock

The bulls add to the injury list as the second unit gets thinner. Isaiah Taylor goes from starting, to second unit to G-League. The difference maker is Noah, he will hopefully he returns soon so we can see the Bulls at there best.

Cleveland Cavaliers Terrence Ross (Knee), Tony Allen (Knee), Andrew Bogut (Waived in NBA),

Returning from last week: Kosta Koufos, Gerald Green

Outs: None

Cleveland keep rolling even with injuries, having Green and Koufas back will be huge for the second unit. Ross, Allen and Bogut are still a few weeks away, will be interesting how the minutes get distributed when everyone returns.

Dallas Mavericks Paul Millsap (Wrist), Tyler Johnson (Ankle), Lonzo Ball (Knee), Ivica Zubac (G-League), Alex Len (Ankle),

Returning from last week: Fred VanVleet

Outs: Ivica Zubac, Alex Len

Dallas have a starting lineup sitting on the injury list. no joke 4 of these guys would be starting now for them. Losing Len hurts, losing his backup hurts even more, Dallas looks very short this week, lets see if they can pull off another upset or 2 this week.

Denver Nuggets Jonathan Isaac (Ankle), Nerlens Noel (Thumb), Troy Williams (Knee), Dwyane Wade (Personal),

Returning from last week:  None

Outs: Dwyane Wade

Wade out hurts, as Denver continue to work out their best lineup after changes, but old guys do need their personal time to reflect.  Denver hasn't yet seen Isaac or Noel line up for the team, until they return from injury Denver will continue to look a little weak in Big man depth.

Detroit Pistons Jabari Parker (Knee), Jon Leuer (Ankle), Alan Williams (Knee), Tyler Lydon (G-League), Derrick Jones Jr. (Waived in NBA), Cody Zeller (Knee), Bruno Caboclo (G-League), Rodney Hood (Leg),

Returning from last week: None

Outs: Rodney Hood

Laddas would be waiting on baited breath each week for the injury report, hoping someone, any body will return. Rodney Hood adds himself to the inury list, Hood was very good off the bench last week, putting up 6th man of the year type numbers, he will be a big loss as the Pistons get thinner.

Golden State Warriors Ramon Sessions (Waived in NBA), Jordan Bell (Ankle),

Returning from last week: Andre Iguodala

Outs: Jordan Bell

Its great to have Iguodala back in the lineup, one of the top defenders in the league. Bell out hurts after trading away Frank in a recent trade, GSW have depth to cover the absence. GSW are close to full strength this week,no news on Sessions return to the NBA, but with current PG stocks, may not get minutes.

Houston Rockets Dion Waiters (Ankle), Udonis Haslem (Personal),

Returning from last week: None

Outs: Udonis Haslem

The big news out of houston, Waiters will miss the remainder of the season after Ankle surgery, thats a big loss with his versatility. Haslem out, is he really? he does his best work sitting on the bench, he can still do that.

Indiana Pacers Nicolas Brussino (CD), Damien Wilkins (Waived in NBA),

Returning from last week: Arron Afflalo

Outs: None

Cant wait to see Indiana this week, Arron Afflalo gets 2 minutes to belt some guys, watch out. Not sure the other 2 guys on the injury list would get minutes, Pacers are at full strength this week and ready to make noise.

LA Clippers Ante Zizic (G-League),

Returning from last week:  Kentavious Caldwell-Pope

Outs:

Massive return for the Clippers that puts them back at full strength, Zizic has been an important cog at times but not sure what minutes he would get with a full roster. This is the first time all season we get to see what GM Andrew has envisioned for this team with all his dynamic guards.

LA Lakers Rodney McGruder (Leg), Damyean Dotson (CD), Nikola Vucevic (Hand), Malcolm Brogdon (Calf), Jerryd Bayless (Wrist),

Returning from last week: None

Outs: Malcolm Brogdon, Jerryd Bayless

Lakers have built their team up around 2 players and its sad to see both of them sitting on the pine this week. Lakers drop down to 1 recognised PG, I am excited to see who he plays there with the Iggy rule removed.

Memphis Grizzlies Dante Exum (Shoulder), Danilo Gallinari (Buttocks), Kenneth Faried (Ankle),

Returning from last week: Marquese Chriss

Outs: Kenneth Faried

Memphis lose a PF in Faried and get one back in the lineup in Marquese Chriss, with the recent acquisition of Jahlil Okafor, this shouldn't cause to many problems. Danilo Gallinari is hoping to return next week in NBA, so we could see the Grizzlies at full strength for week 13.

Miami Heat Okaro White (Foot), Dorian Finney-Smith (Knee), JJ Redick (Leg), Tyler Cavanaugh (G-League),

Returning from last week: None

Outs: Tyler Cavanaugh

Tyler Cavanaugh hasn't really played for Miami this year, so no real affect on the team. Its Redick who the team is keen to see return, the long distance ace. Redick was seen doing stationary shooting during the week, and is expected to be reevaluated soon.

Milwaukee Bucks James Ennis (Calf),

Returning from last week: Iman Shumpert

Outs:

Defensive ace shumpert returns for the best team in the comp and even better news Ennis is expected to return "within the next week". Putting it in prospective, both players probably wont get minutes and we can all expect to keep losing to this team with the occasional shock win.

Minnesota Timberwolves Returning from last week:  None

Outs: None

Wolves will be at their best this week.
Its really sad that this will be Cousins last week for the season.

New Orleans Pelicans Chinanu Onuaku (G-League), Kay Felder (Waived in NBA), Reggie Jackson (Ankle), Caleb Swanigan (G-League), Chandler Parsons (Knee), George Hill (Rest), Ben McLemore (Knee),

Returning from last week: None

Outs: Ben McLemore

Pelicans are having tough deal with injury at the moment, would go as high as 4 starters are currently sitting on the pine. McLemore was starting as Point guard, and helped the Pelican end a losing streak over a quality team in the Knicks, he will be a loss. Hopefully George Hill is enjoying his rest at the moment, just waiting for the Kings to trade him, it sucks that his rest days have been the final game before cutoff.

New York Knicks Manu Ginobili (Thigh), TJ Leaf (Ankle),

Returning from last week: Kyrie Irving, Luke Babbitt

Outs: TJ Leaf

Knicks get back one of the best players in the game in Irving, lets just say without him, the Knicks lose to the Pelicans with 4 starters out. Babbit adds to the Knicks to the depth but no real impact. The 2 players on the sideline are handy players in the depth chart, expect to see them back hopefully for week 13.

Oklahoma City Thunder Juan Hernangomez (Illness), Zhou Qi (G), Jimmy Butler (Knee),

Returning from last week:  Draymond Green

Outs: Jimmy Butler

The Thunder welcome back one of the best Power Forwards in the game, only to see one of the best Shooting guards in the game on the sidelines. The team will rotate players around to fill the big gap, with the expectation that Butler returns next week. The other 2 players out really only affect the Thunders depth.

Orlando Magic Tony Bradley (G-League), Derrick White (G-League),

Returning from last week: None

Outs: Derrick White

Both Bradley and White have been in and out of the second unit, they only affect depth at this moment, and it gives them an opportunity to see quality minutes.

Philadelphia 76ers Kawhi Leonard (Quad), Jose Barea (Groin),

Returning from last week:  Richaun Holmes

Outs: None

Richaun Holmes is a handy in, will take his spot in the second unit, its nice to see no additional injuries for the 76ers. The best player on the team will continue to be out for a long period of time, the good news Leonard "didn't reinjure" the quad and the organization is erring on the side of caution. Personally, I dont expect Kawai to play again this season.

Phoenix Suns Glenn Robinson III (Ankle), Davon Reed (Knee), Gordon Hayward (Ankle), Al Horford (Head),

Returning from last week: None

Outs: Al Horford

Al Horford is a big out, they are down 2 stars out of their starting line-up.  Al should be back next week after a concussion scare.
Glenn Robinson III (left ankle rehab) practiced with the team for the first time since late September. GRIII is “still a ways away,” Small chance he plays before the All-Star break.
Injured star Gordon Hayward is practicing once again. Several videos of Hayward shooting set shots have circulated throughout the internet this week, its still believed he wont return this year.

Portland Trail Blazers Brandon Knight (Knee), Furkan Korkmaz (G-League), Brice Johnson (G-League), Rudy Gay (Heel), Thomas Bryant (G-League), Guerschon Yabusele (Illness), Austin Rivers (Achilles), Jawun Evans (Abdominal),

Returning from last week: None

Outs: Jawun Evans

The Blazers have the biggest injury list in the NLL, its a tough situation to be in, Jawun is added to the list this week. Latest news has Rudy Gay returning after the all-star break. Austin Rivers is out of a Moon boot, and is at-least another 2 weeks away.

San Antonio Spurs Mike Conley (Achilles), Marcus Smart (Hand),

Returning from last week: None

Outs: Marcus Smart

Its with a heavy heart we see Conley take to surgery and wont return this season, its very disappointing news for the Spurs, as one of there leaders and best players. Is there a chance he returns for NLL playoffs?
Marcus Smart is a big loss after being recently acquired to take the starting PG role. He has been great form and sees Spurs give reserve PGs a shot.

Sacramento Kings Returning from last week: None

Outs: None

Kings will be at their best this week.

Toronto Raptors Solomon Hill (Hamstring), Kris Dunn (Concussion),

Returning from last week: None

Outs: Kris Dunn

Kris Dunn is a big loss for the Raptors, having started the last 2 weeks and helped revitalize the Raptors with their move up the ladder. Dunn went for a monster dunk which looked awesome but in the process smashed his face in a bad way. Rondo steps into the spot but the Raptors have decisions to make on the backup PG position.

Utah Jazz Returning from last week: None

Outs: None

Jazz will be at their best this week.

Washington Wizards Seth Curry (Leg), Jeremy Lin (Knee), Mike James (Waived in NBA), Frank Mason (Heel), JaMychal Green (Ankle),

Returning from last week: None

Outs: JaMychal Green

No help coming in for the wizards, it only gets worse with starting power forward JaMychal Green joining the injury list. Green continues to recover from a right ankle sprain and is expected to return within the next week.
