Week 5 Injury Watch - Minus 10 points Griffindor*

TEAM INJURIES
Atlanta Hawks Markelle Fultz (Shoulder), Alexis Ajinca (Knee), Justin Patton (Toe), Justin Jackson (G-League), Allen Crabbe (Back)

In addition to Fultz, Ajinca and Patton of last week, the Hawks now add Jackson and Crabbe which decimates their starting wing combo of last week. Thabo and Doug this week? It's a blow to the Hawks who are fighting to keep touch with the 8th seed out East.
Brooklyn Nets Jabari Parker (Knee), Cameron Payne (Foot), A.J. Hammons (G-League), Danilo Gallinari (Buttocks), Rondae Hollis-Jefferson (Ankle)

They get Nanace back this week, but they swap him for Rondae, which is a good swap as he did the equivalent of nothing in 35 minutes last week as a starter. Nance should fair much better, but the team is still eagerly awaiting the return of key starting scorer, Danilo Gallinari.
Boston Celtics Dorian Finney-Smith (Knee), Lucas Nogueira (Calf), Jeff Withey (CD)

Dorian is still out, and they add Nogueira and Withey to the closet...why am I wasting breath, Kevin Durant is back! He brings with him Shane Larkin, but Larkin likely won't crack the rotation anyway. Perhaps their a little more thin on the front line with the 2 bigs out, but they still have Lopez/O'Quinn combo and KEVIN DURANT IS BACK!
Charlotte Hornets Frank Jackson (Foot), Harry Giles (Knees), Ike Anigbogu (G-League)

Rinse repeat, no changes here. Giles had known knee issues coming into the draft and has been out ever since pretty much, with no need to bring him back any time soon. Jackson was a blow, but again, no rush. Ike also had known issues which caused him to slip so far in the draft...so...nothing here to report, really.
Chicago Bulls Joakim Noah (Suspended), Damian Jones (CD), Nicolas Brussino (CD), Dewayne Dedmon (Leg)

Noah still sitting with suspension...which only now becomes more of a problem as they have lost their starting big man Dedmon for the next 3-6 weeks. Ouch! On the plus side, big plus side, the Bulls are sitting 11-4 so have some leeway to adversity, but they will miss their man in the middle.
Cleveland Cavaliers Milos Teodosic (Foot), Terrence Ross (Knee)

The Cavs injury report grows as TRoss joins Milos. They have been forced to use MCW as a starting PG sans Milos being hit before the season started, but it hasn't stopped the East leaders. They just put Ross on the trade block, and now he's out, but with the likes of Tony Allen and Robert Covington to cover him, that shouldn't be an issue for the King and his minions.
Dallas Mavericks Jonathan Isaac (Ankle), Paul Millsap (Wrist), Nerlens Noel (Thumb)

Lose Millsap the other week, now add Nerlens Noel and you're going to start having a bad time...or are you? Zubac was unleashed last week and now Bam will join him for a week of tantelising future viewing! Isaac remains out too, so after Ellenson off the bench, the big men dwindle.
Denver Nuggets John Wall (Knee), Troy Williams (Knee)

Last week it was Kanter and Gordon, which is a pretty bad week...so how can we up this? John Wall sits this week. At least the aforementioned pair will return to the court but Wall is the Nuggets main man, Captain and leader. It's looking like Super Mario will get the starting nod, but we'll likely see plenty of Jameer Nelson also.
Detroit Pistons Jon Leuer (Ankle), Tyler Lydon (G-League), Bruno Caboclo (G-League)

They bring in Jon Leuer who was on the Warriors injury report last week, and he remains out this week. Which means they will be running a rotation guy down with the departure of Ariza. They do however get back Ryan Anderson from illness and he'll slot back in as the starting PF, slipping Dudley down to the 3 to cover Ariza.
Golden State Warriors Andre Iguodala (Knee), T.J. McConnell (Shoulder)

He's back, Batum is back, and right on time as the Warriors sit way down the bottom of the standings. They've taken to the trade for wins route this week, but they swapped their injured big in Leuer for an Iguodala whom is also out injured this week, so we won't see him try help the Warriors just yet. Batum will however immediately take the starting 2 spot and get to work.
Houston Rockets Isaiah Thomas (Hip), Mindaugas Kuzminskas (Waived in NBA), Hassan Whiteside (Knee), Wilson Chandler (Back)

Ummmm OUCH. Fresh off a Week 3 POTW win, Whiteside is averaging 28 and 17 this week with 1 game to play...but he's gone down for the coming week with a knee. NOT. COOL, for a team who still has their elite PG Thomas on the shelf. To make matters worse, they drop Wilson Chandler to injury also so the line-up is going to take a drastic dip this week. Pray for Houston.
Indiana Pacers Carrick Felix (Waived in NBA), Sheldon Mac (Achilles), Matthew Dellavedova (Knee), Blake Griffin (Leg)

So the Pacers were waiting on the return of the old man Parker, and it's here! Just in time with Dellavedova still shelved, but, they lose their main man in Blake Griffin for months, not weeks. But, they do get Brandon Wright back...that's got got be a good consolation right? RIGHT?
LA Clippers Nikola Mirotic (Face), Tristan Thompson (Calf), DAngelo Russell (Knee), Rodney Hood (Ankle),

Thompson and Russell remain on the shelf for at least another week, and they add Rodney Hood to the list unfortunately. Hood has been their glue guy having now played 3 positions in 4 weeks, after lining up successfully at PG in Week 4, but now he's sitting too. Mirotic joins the injured list for LA after being on the injured list for the Thunder all season, but he's nearing a return. Korver wasn't in the Clippers rotation anyhow.
LA Lakers Rodney McGruder (Leg)

McGruder remains out, but that's it in LA2...or LA1...whatever. He's unlikely to crack the rotation upon return, either.
Memphis Grizzlies Dante Exum (Shoulder), Georgios Papagiannis (CD), Raul Neto (Hamstring), Frank Ntilikina (Ankle)

Sheesh, there's something in the PG water in Memphis as they add Frankie Smokes and Raul Neto to the shelf alongside Dante Exum. This means Tyus Jones is going to get BIG minutes and they'll probably have to run Alec Burks through the spot too. Papa remains out, and the fans are awaiting the return of the gentle giant whom they loved last year.
Miami Heat Isaiah Canaan (Waived in NBA), Kyle Kuzma (Back)

Mozgov is back, which is probably a better thing than you'd normally think given the big man dominance. But, they lose rookie stud Kyle Kuzma, so we likely will see more of Forbes/Sato at the starting SF spot this week. Or, is Channing Frye moving down? Hmmmm....
Milwaukee Bucks Zach LaVine (Knee), Iman Shumpert (Knee)

The Bad news, LaVine and Shumpert remain out. The good news, Giannis and Miles return! That's a big bolster for a still flying Milwaukee team. Shumpert's continued absence has landed him on the trade block with Badwolf asking what he can get for Shumpt and a 1st...anyone? Crickets.
Minnesota Timberwolves Glenn Robinson III (Ankle), Wayne Selden Jr. (Quadriceps)

The struggling Wolves forced their GM out of town due to salinity issues. The team was under a dehydrated hazey state as the water table dropped below the salt line and there was no fresh water to keep their hydration levels up. It's the most extreme case of this issue we've seen in a long time. Not good.

But, Jeff Teague is back this week, rejoice!
New Orleans Pelicans Chinanu Onuaku (G-League), Tyler Dorsey (G-League)

Birch and Iwundu return this week, but might not crack the rotation anyway, while Dorsey drops out to the Gleague for a stint to get some work in the legs. All systems go for the New Orleans Leniscans.
New York Knicks Bobby Portis (Arm), Caleb Swanigan (CD)

Babbitt and Jet return for the Knicks which is handy, but Portis and Swanigan go down which leaves Babbitt picking up the minutes as a starting 4 this week. Not ideal, but a role he has played before. They'll be hopeful of a quick return for Bobby.
Oklahoma City Thunder Zhou Qi (Calf)

The Thunder have a clean slate this week, so the only headache is where to play everyone. Mirotic is gone for Korver, and Draymond and Henson return...choices choices.
Orlando Magic Derrick White (Wrist), Malachi Richardson (G-League), Sterling Brown (G-League)

Malachi and Brown are added to the injured White this week but none of these guys should move the bar far for the resurgent Magic. Javi's team is gelling well and will continue to do so with the rotation guys still around.
Philadelphia 76ers Julyan Stone (Hamstring), Kawhi Leonard (Quadriceps), Rudy Gobert (Knee)

No changes here as Muscala was the other name last week, and he's off to Sacramento. Barea will be in the rotation this week though which will help, but it doesn't make up for the loss of arguably their 2 top players (no offence to Dame of course). Leonard is said to be not too far off finally, but Gobert is just starting his stint still.
Phoenix Suns Davon Reed (Knee), Gordon Hayward (Ankle), Nemanja Bjelica (Foot), Kemba Walker (Shoulder)

Bjelica remains out which is a pain as theiy are relying on 2way guy Bolomboy and O'Bryant, but the real pain is the loss of Kemba Walker this week. He's only day to day fortunately, but it won't help the Suns this week. They've been on the upward trajectory, and will roll with Clarkson at the 1 this week. It could be far worse.
Portland Trail Blazers Brandon Knight (Knee), Delon Wright (Shoulder), Justin Anderson (Shin), Thomas Bryant (CD)

Brice Johnson returns this week...ok I had to note it despite it's insignificance. But the other 4 all remain out. The Blazers have been better than projected thus far and with their main rotation still intact they should continue as they were.
San Antonio Spurs Alan Williams (Knee), Patrick Beverley (Knee), Mike Conley (Achilles), Joel Embiid (Rest)

Conley remains out and is expected out another 2-3 weeks, but the big news here in SA is that Joel Embiid is sitting the week. Gotta hate a Friday night rest night. Perhaps the even bigger news might be that while Embiid is expected back next week, they might be swapping him for an extended absence of the life blood of the team, Anthony Davis. Stay tuned.
Sacramento Kings Mike Muscala (Ankle), Okaro White (Foot), Jahlil Okafor (Persona;)

Muscala joins the team, and immediately joins the injury report. White remains out, and Jahlil Okafor has been granted leave from the team for personal reasons. They'll miss Okafor, he's been balling. Here's hoping he's back sooner than later.
Toronto Raptors Solomon Hill (Hamstring), Ivan Rabb (CD)

No change from last week, the Raptors remain healthy through their rotational guys and keep Rabb down in the GLeague. Hill will be making an appearance at some stage, but will he get on the court?
Utah Jazz Derrick Rose (Ankle)

Rose remains the only out for the Jazz with talk he's considering retirement continuing. He can't catch a break...or maybe the problem is he can catch a break, and can't catch a health...ok yeah that was bad.
Washington Wizards Seth Curry (Leg), Joe Johnson (Wrist), Jeremy Lin (Knee), Kyle Singler (CD)

No change in Washington either with all the same 4 names sitting again this week. Lin is done for the season, and Singler is done for a career, but they really would like Johnson and Curry back soon. Talk is that Curry is on the block and being offered out. Johnson? Who knows, he's old and his chance to be traded may have passed.
