Week 3 Injury Watch

TEAM INJURIES
Atlanta Hawks Markelle Fultz (Shoulder), DeAndre Bembry (Wrist), Alexis Ajinca (Knee), Justin Patton (Toe), Thabo Sefolosha (Knee)

The #1 pick is still out with his shoulder injury responsible for his funky shot in preseason. But Monroe is ready for his season debut. Will the surprisingly highly efficient Arthur be benched now, or will one of Sabonis/Monroe be a Super-Zubehör? Newcomer Crabbe will fill in for Thabo.
Brooklyn Nets Jabari Parker (Knee), Cameron Payne (Foot), A.J. Hammons (G-League), Larry Nance Jr. (Hand), Danilo Gallinari (Buttocks),

Status Quo for the walking wounded in Brooklyn. With our without Gallo's buttocks, this star studded team is stilly searching for it's 2k17 identity.
Boston Celtics Dorian Finney-Smith (Knee)

KD will be back lightening the workload for BroLo, putting the Celtics to pretty much full strength and having them look forward to another winning week ahead.
Charlotte Hornets Frank Jackson (Foot), Harry Giles (Knees), Ike Anigbogu (G-League)

The Hornets top dog, Kristaps 'Zinger' Porzingis returns from an ankle injury. He is still nursing a chronic elbow, but will play have to play through that. Booker is back too, which means their super-sized front court is complete again and the paint in Charlotte is closed.
Chicago Bulls Joakim Noah (Suspended), Damian Jones (CD), Nicolas Brussino (CD)

This is Noah's last week on suspension, but it is unclear whether he is mentally and physically ready to return. Not that he is great fit for the Bulls trigger happy offense anyway. And Dedmon seems to be locked into the starting position either way.
Cleveland Cavaliers Milos Teodosic (Foot), Serge Ibaka (Knee), Michael Carter-Williams (Concussion), Tony Allen (Knee)

After a single week MCW is back on the IR with a concussion. Delany is back though and will make his season debut as the Cav's starting point guard. Lebron will start at SG next week. Third week, third position for LBJ. With Ibaka out with a knee injury, free agent signee Speights will bring his scoring punch into the starting five, which leaves the second until lacking offense aside from Ross.
Dallas Mavericks Ivica Zubac (G-League), Jonathan Isaac (Ankle)

Dallas fans are irate over Zubac spending the week in the G-League and rightfully so. Rookie Isaac, who started last week is out with a knee injury, making an adjustment in the starting five necessary as well.
Denver Nuggets Troy Williams (G-League), Norman Powell (Hip)

The struggling Nuggets finally get Green back from offseason ankle treatment, but lose Powell to a hip injury. Will there be another shake up in the starting five as time has finally caught up with D-Wade.
Detroit Pistons Tyler Lydon (G-League), Jerryd Bayless (Wrist), Jared Dudley (Knee)

Newcomer Dudley shot well enough in his first week as a Piston, but didnt play his trademark defense. Now he will be resting his injured knee, joining Bayless on the IR.
Golden State Warriors Jon Leuer (Ankle), Al-Farouq Aminu (Ankle)

The Warriors get their two frenchmen back, with Batum being a huge upgrade over Clark at shooting guard. Aminu and Leuer are both still nursing ankles, but GS has their positions covered with Bebe and Smith.
Houston Rockets Isaiah Thomas (Hip), Mindaugas Kuzminskas (Waived in NBA), Cole Aldrich (Ankle)

Kuz and Aldrige join the IR for the Rockets this week, with the later being a surprisingly big loss. Following the trend, Cole is averaging career scoring numbers this season. Kuzminskas only made a single appearance this season and is more likely to go back to Europe than to return for the Rockets.
Indiana Pacers Carrick Felix (Waived in NBA), Sheldon Mac (Achilles), Tony Parker (Quadriceps), Matthew Dellavedova (Knee)

Good news as their only starter with a positive +/- Adams is back. But they lose another starting point guard in Delly, likely forcing Galloway into starting.
LA Clippers Tristan Thompson (Calf), DAngelo Russell (Knee)

The big news is obviously Russell having knee surgery and going down for several weeks at least. Doc Rivers surprisingly will try Booker at the 1 over rookie Dennis Smith. Booker is a decent passer, but whether or not he can run the point full time will be interesting to evaluate next week.
LA Lakers Rodney McGruder (Leg)

Nothing to see here.
Memphis Grizzlies Dante Exum (Shoulder), Georgios Papagiannis (CD)

Exum seems to be always hurt and the novelty of last years rookie sensation Papagiannis has worn off in Memphis as he is gathering his third straight week of DNP CDs.
Miami Heat Isaiah Canaan (Waived in NBA), D.J. Augustin (Hamstring)

Miami has played extremely well without their two little guys. They certainly are not missed right now as Devin Harris has things running smoothly.
Milwaukee Bucks Zach LaVine (Knee)

Zach is getting closer to making his season debut. Will he return at 100%?
Minnesota Timberwolves Glenn Robinson III (Ankle), Wayne Selden Jr. (Quadriceps)

With no movement here it clearly wasn't injuries that caused the GM to step down.
New Orleans Pelicans Khem Birch (G-League), Chinanu Onuaku (G-League), Miles Plumlee (Quadriceps), Wesley Iwundu (G-League), Tyler Dorsey (G-League)

80% of the injured  Pelicans salary belongs to superstar Miles Plumlee. With his hops, this could actually be the season where this guy is worth 12 million. If he ever takes the court. The other four guys are all G League material.
New York Knicks Luc Mbah a Moute (Knee)

BMac is back and with Manu's skillset steadily declining, despite consistent production so far, he is just in time.
Oklahoma City Thunder Nikola Mirotic (Face), Nik Stauskas (Ankle), Ricky Rubio (Achilles)

With Rubio out, Schroeder gets a chance to prove himself starting material. He has been outplaying Ricky off the bench anyway. Mirotic is back working out after his run in with Portis' fist and the floor. Still weeks away though.
Orlando Magic Sterling Brown (G-League), Derrick White (Wrist)

Orlando is cruising. Imagine if they had these two guys available too!
Philadelphia 76ers Julyan Stone (Hamstring), Kawhi Leonard (Quadriceps), Mike Muscala (Ankle), Rudy Gobert (Knee), Richard Jefferson (CD)

The Gobby injury piles more shit on the Sixers poor start to the new season. Two All Defensive First Team players on the shelf is just too much. Not that defense counts for much this season, but Gobert averaged 17/15 for them. Even with the addition of JJ this leaves Philly extremly short-handed up front.
Phoenix Suns Davon Reed (Knee), Gordon Hayward (Ankle), Treveon Graham (Thigh)

Horford returning from concussion is a big deal. He started somewhat slowly, but expect the Suns coaching staff to figure things out soon.
Portland Trail Blazers Brandon Knight (Knee), Delon Wright (Shoulder)

Wright played solid minutes for the Blazers to start the season, so this really is a loss. For some reason he has been having a bigger impact than Rivers, who will likely gobble up those minutes now, pushing him well beyond 30mpg off the bench.
San Antonio Spurs Alan Williams (Knee), Patrick Beverley (Knee), Jordan Bell (CD), Mike Conley (Achilles)

Losing their engine Conley hurts the Spurs big time. With Beverly out too, Sessions will have to be the one getting the ball to AD and Embiid. At least Johnson is back. He can handle the ball too in a pinch. And pinch this is.
Sacramento Kings David Nwaba (Ankle), Okaro White (Foot), Jahlil Okafor (Illness)

Just when they trade away Johnson, Okafor goes out with an illness. Bad timing there as they currently have five PGs, but no PF. I guess Melo will have to slide over for next week.

Toronto Raptors Solomon Hill (Hamstring), Tyson Chandler (Back), Ivan Rabb (CD)

Rondo is back baby. We will see what he can do in this engine. Willy will get to start again in Chandlers absence. He has been doing great so far.
Utah Jazz Derrick Rose (Ankle), Vince Carter (Illness)

Rose still out with that bum ankle and Carter is still passing kidney stones, but CP3 is back and ready to kickstart the Jazz season. Better late than never.
Washington Wizards Seth Curry (Leg), Joe Johnson (Wrist), Jeremy Lin (Knee), Kyle Singler (CD)

Oh no! Singler is out next week. All hope is lost in Washington. Well, maybe not.
