Week 14 Injury Watch
TEAM | INJURIES |
---|---|
Josh McRoberts (Foot), Justise Winslow (Shoulder), Chris Paul (Thumb) The Hawks get some size back up front as Ajinca, but he is currently third on the depth chart, so he doesn't move the needle. CP3 has done some light shooting lately, but is still several weeks away from his early to mid-march return. |
Danilo Gallinari (Groin), Terrence Jones (Thumb) Two guards return for the Nets as Moore and Quarterman are back from their non-injury related absences. The two forwards Gallo and Jones remain out. Both played long minutes in Middleton's absence and will be missed even with Khris back in action and looking good. |
Adreian Payne (Illness), Patrick Patterson (Knee) Yo-Yo Tyreke is back for next week. 2Pat is out again with a troublesome knee, but during his first absence he has lost his starting PF spot to Durant and is playing less than 20 minutes off the bench. |
Nothing to see. All 15 seven-footers are healthy for a change. | |
Dragan Bender (Ankle), Thabo Sefolosha (Groin), Garrett Temple (Hamstring), Evan Turner (Hand) McCullough returns and will immediately join the rotation for the hurting Bulls with Thabo, Turner, Temple and Bender all out. |
Terrence Ross (Not with team), Serge Ibaka (Not with team), Thomas Robinson (CD), Brandon Jennings (Achilles) Ross and Ibaka are absent due to being traded for each other in the NBA. With Robinson a DNP-CD and Jennings nursing an Achilles the Cavs will be thin up front and at the point next week. Can someone take advantage and stop their streak? |
Jerryd Bayless (Wrist), JR Smith (Thumb), Henry Ellenson (CD), Emmanuel Mudiay (Ankle), Nikola Mirotic (Back) The Mav's back-court is already severely decimated. Now Mirotic joins the walking wounded and veteran Diaw will be forced into a starting position. It's a good thing that the tank is on. |
Troy Williams (D-League), Enes Kanter (Arm), Quincy Acy (Ankle) Newcomer Kanter is still out, but the other one, Eric Gordon is ready to become the Nuggets new spark-plug off the bench. Troy Williams will take a week off to celebrate his G-League slam dunk title. |
Ben Simmons (Foot), Pau Gasol (Hand), Lavoy Allen (Knee), Al-Farouq Aminu (Knee) Gasol is not quite ready to make his Pistons debut, but might return as early as next week. That is unfortunate as Allen und Al-Farouq are also out, which presses returnee Diamond Stone into a major role. |
Jose Barea (Calf), Paul Zipser (Ankle) With Zimmermann and Jackson two previously injured guys will be available to fill out the Warriors bench. Barea has been out for most of the season, but hopes to return within two weeks. |
Daniel Ochefu (CD), Dante Cunningham (Personal) Cunningham is out, but stretch-four enforcements have been brought in the form of Jonas Jerebko. Newcomer Waiters will be available after a short absence. |
Georges Niang (D-League) Since Blake's return the Pacers have been pretty healthy, only Niang languishes in the G-League. |
Festus Ezeli (Knee), Joel Bolomboy (CD), Rodney Hood (Knee), Cody Zeller (Quad) Hood is still hurt and will be joined by Zeller next week. But at this point it doesn't much matter as the Clips. They are playing for ping-pong balls anyway. |
Archie Goodwin (Waived in NBA), Josh Huestis (CD), Dwyane Wade (Wrist) Wade will miss his first week of the season with a wrist injury, just as Hill returns from a toe injury. |
Chris Bosh (Blood Clots), Michael Gbinije (CD), Darrell Arthur (Knee) Arthur joins Bosh and Gbinije on the IR. The Grizz rely on a three-man big guy rotation, despite having Baynes and Tolliver available. |
Kyle Wiltjer (CD), Rudy Gay (Achilles) The Heat may not be hot this season, but other than Gay, who is out for the season, they are pretty healthy currently . |
Wade Baldwin IV (D-League), Deyonta Davis (Personal), Thaddeus Young (Wrist), Zach LaVine (Knee) The Bucks get two key guys back in Shump and Gordon. Shump will even likely start next week, pushing KCP into the second unit. Thad Young is still out nursing his wrist. |
Avery Bradley (Achilles), Metta World Peace (CD), Zaza Pachulia (Shoulder), Jabari Parker (Knee) The Wolves recently traded away a perenially injured guy in Lin and now gamble on another one of this species in Parker. Zaza and Bradley are still out as well and MWP is gradually sliding into his new role as a coach. |
Jeremy Lin (Hamstring), Chinanu Onuaku (CD), A.J. Hammons (D-League) Parsons, Len and Chiallo are back, slicing the Pelicans injury list in half. Newcomer Lin has yet to dress up for New Orleans. |
Roy Hibbert (Knee), Lance Stephenson (Ankle) Hibbert continues to nurse a phantom knee injury for his new NBA team, while Lance has a very real grade-two ankle sprain, putting him in danger of falling out of the league for a second time this season because of an injury. Knicks brass say they will keep him around, but who knows. |
Walter Tavares (Waived in NBA), Josh Richardson (Foot) The two usual suspects are out for the Thunder, who stubbornly continue holding on to Tavares for some reason. |
Ty Lawson (Groin), Kevin Love (Knee) Love is in and out lately. Over the next couple of weeks there will be more outs, as he had a minor procedure to clean out his bothersome knee. His timetable says he would be back for the playoffs, if the Magic make it that far. |
Nada. Philly traded away all hurt guys and has a full roster available. | |
Omri Casspi (Calf), Anthony Brown (Waived in NBA), Wilson Chandler (Illness) Noah is back from an injured hamstring, but now Chandler will miss a week. Luckily it is due to illness, so he should be back after four games. |
Brice Johnson (Back), Ramon Sessions (Knee), Jaylen Brown (Hip) The only thing that matters to Portland at this point is Brown's health. So him sitting out with a hip-injury is terrible for the Blazers. |
David West (Thumb), Joel Embiid (Knee) Bogut is back, which softens the blow of Embiid's absence a bit, but of course cannot make up for it. Wright is also back, but will be reduced to being a towel-waver on the bench. |
Steve Novak (CD) Kings are as healthy as they can get as long as they hold on to Novak, who is out of the league. |
Tiago Splitter (Hamstring) Crowder is back, which hurts the tank, but pleases fans at Air Canada centre. Does anyone remember when Splitter was a useful player? Maybe back during his days in Spain? |
Pierre Jackson (Waived in NBA), Kenneth Faried (Ankle) Faried is still out, but the Jazz have plenty of depth up front, especially with the acquisition of Gasol. It is on the wings, where they are bit thin despite being healthy. |
Jodie Meeks (Thumb), Miles Plumlee (Calf) Nene is back and, Plumlee aside, the Wizards can test out all their new shiny acquisitions. There are no news about Meeks' status. |
