Pau taking "Rest" Over Christmas Break

TEAM INJURIES
Atlanta Hawks Malik Beasley (D-League), Chris Paul (Hamstring),

Chris Paul is the big name here, he's had issue with the hamstring since the playoffs last year.  This may be a nagging injury that comes back to haunt the Hawks.  With the new CBA, he's in for a huge contract soon, need him to be healthy for them to stay in playoff contention.
Brooklyn Nets Khris Middleton (Hamstring), Dion Waiters (Groin), Terrence Jones (Illness),

The Nets made some big trades, so honestly, they don't really need these guys right now.  Jones out hurts because of the depth at PF, but Middleton and Waiters out isn't as bad as it was last week now.  Is anyone gonna be more scary than the Nets when they are fully healthy?
Boston Celtics Michael Beasley (Foot), Derrick Jones Jr. (CD),

Beasley out hurts this teams depth, but the real news is that Tyreke Evans is back for them and it looks like he's getting starter minutes off the bench.  The Celtics have been struggling a bit, but with Evans back, they are gonna be back to Beast Mode.
Charlotte Hornets Christian Wood (D-League), Aaron Harrison (D-League),

Dirk Is Back!  Dirk Is Back!  Not much else to report here, but checking out the roster right now, Dirk is getting zero minutes, that can't be right can it?
Chicago Bulls Damian Jones (D-League), Evan Turner (Ankle), Trevor Booker (Rest)

Booker and Turner out hurt them, but they got some guys in this week due to trade in Mike Scott and Crawford, so it doesn't look so grim.  This team is looking good, not sure what they are gonna do at PF this week though.
Cleveland Cavaliers Rakeem Christmas (CD), James McAdoo (CD), Tony Parker (Rest),

They get LeBron back, and Parker gets rested.  This is what happens when you have a team full of aging superstars.  It's going to be an up and down season for the Cavs while they rest guys.
Dallas Mavericks Jerryd Bayless (Wrist), Fred VanVleet (D-League),

Dallas just traded for Bayless and knew he was gonna be out.  Not a big surprise here for a team that may be looking to rebuild.
Denver Nuggets James Young (Illness),

Denver is finally completely healthy (I don't count Young as they never play him).  This should make Rootsey happy as the Nuggets look to return to form soon.
Detroit Pistons Brandan Wright (Ankle), Ben Simmons (Foot), Tarik Black (Ankle),

Some trades got rid of some of the injuries, and Simmons is still out obviously, but Noel, Hill, and Ellison are all healthy, so Detroit is looking pretty healthy this week.
Golden State Warriors Quincy Pondexter (Knee), Jose Barea (Calf), Demetrius Jackson (D-League), Rodney Stuckey (Hamstring),

Stuckey is still out, and Barea is close to being back.  These guys should be back next week and the Warriors will have a full healthy squad.  Barea is really needed back though as they don't have a great option at backup point guard right now.
Houston Rockets No Injuries!  The Rockets are fully healthy for the first time this season!  Hopefully they get back on track this week!
Indiana Pacers Jose Calderon (Hamstring), Blake Griffin (Knee), Marshall Plumlee (D-League),

Traded for Jose, but the big out is Blake.  The Pacers look to be in rebuild mode now, and Blake is out for a couple months.  Not a very Merry Christmas in Indy.
LA Clippers Festus Ezeli (Knee), Alec Burks (Ankle), Joel Bolomboy (CD), Clint Capela (Leg),

The big news here is that Capela is out for 6-8 weeks.  Ezeli also was updated as out for more time now too.  For a team that was super high on Capela, this is a big blow.
LA Lakers George Hill (Toe), Manu Ginobili (Rest),

Hill still out with that toe injury, the ageless wonder Manu is out for rest this week.  This definitelyhurts the Lakers who are still searching for an answer at point guard with Hill out.
Memphis Grizzlies Chris Bosh (Blood Clots), Michael Gbinije (CD), Donatas Motiejunas (CD), Georgios Papagiannis (CD), Rashad Vaughn (Ankle), Nik Stauskas (Knee), Dante Exum (Knee),

Memphis has injury issues this week, D-League hasn't been their friends so far.  Exum out really leaves them screwed, only 7 healthy players.  It might be time to petition the league for some free agents.
Miami Heat Anthony Brown (Waived in NBA), Rudy Gay (Hip), JR Smith (Thumb),

Rudy Gay is still out, but the big news is JR is out with a broken thumb, he's expected to be out over a month.  This team isn't deep enough to be missing both Gay and Smith.  They are gonna struggle to score until they get Smith and Gay back.
Milwaukee Bucks Cameron Payne (Foot), Deyonta Davis (Foot), Wade Baldwin IV (D-League), Skal Labissiere (CD),

Same as last week plus Skal, nobody that is really a big deal for the Bucks.  Payne is getting closer, and he's been on the trade block all season.  The benefit of always having young guys is that they never miss time due to rest.  That is huge in a league that you miss 4 games for 1 missed game of NBA rest.
Minnesota Timberwolves R.J. Hunter (D-League), Richaun Holmes (Concussion),

The team finally gets Warren and Lin back, and then the backup center Holmes goes out.  Luckily rookie Chinanu Onuaku was brought back up and is getting the call at backup this year.
New Orleans Pelicans Jared Sullinger (Foot),

Parsons is back, only Sully out now.  NOLA is doing pretty good now on injuries and will be a hard team to deal with when they are fully healthy.
New York Knicks Dwight Howard (Back), Maurice Ndour (CD),

These guys aren't lucky right now, they get Kyrie back and Howard goes out.  The Knicks might be the best in the league when fully healthy.  They have old man Roy to fill in, and he's still a capable big man.  They will be fine this week.
Oklahoma City Thunder Walter Tavares (Waived in NBA), Evan Fournier (Shin),

Fournier out is a hit to the bench, but Smaug is super deep so it's really not a big loss.  Josh Richardson can easily fill in for Evan and they will be fine.
Orlando Magic Michael Carter-Williams (Knee),

Kevin Love is back from rest and rumor has it MCW is close to being back.  One of the better teams in the East when healthy, the Magic are gonna look scary good when fully healthy.
Philadelphia 76ers Pau Gasol (Rest),

Another of the old men that gets rested.  Rule of thumb: Never have an old player on the Spurs and expect them to play every week.  Other Rule of thumb: Old guys on the Spurs are amazing and any team would be lucky to have them.
Phoenix Suns Omri Casspi (Illness), Monta Ellis (Groin),

Kemba is back which is great for them, but Monta is expected to be out for a couple of weeks.  Rumor is they are gonna look to trade him, so maybe that gets in before next week and they look healthy?
Portland Trail Blazers Brice Johnson (Back), Ian Mahinmi (Knee), Larry Nance Jr. (Knee), Rodney McGruder (Ankle), Wayne Ellington (Hamstring),

The injuries are starting to pile up.  Mahinmi was brought in on a major salary and hasn't contributed at all.  Nance was a great pickup and has been good for them but is out with a major Knee injury.  At this point, they aren't deep enough to sustain these injuries, I hope they get healthy soon.
San Antonio Spurs Delon Wright (Shoulder), Andrew Bogut (Rest), Timothy Hardaway (Groin), Bruno Caboclo (D-League),

Bogut still out after the trade, Hardaway out sucks for them as he was a good bench scorer.  This team is so deep though, I doubt these injuries affect them too much.  I'm sure they cruise to a 4-0 week again.
Sacramento Kings Reggie Bullock (Knee),

The bench is finally back to healthy.  The Kings have won regardless of their injuries, it seems like nothing affects them.  This team is one of the best in the West and I don't seem them falling off barring a major injury to Klay.
Toronto Raptors Tiago Splitter (Hamstring),

No updates here other than Khris Dunn getting hacked in the new ratings update.  The Raptors are just looking to tank, so honestly, more injuries would help there case!
Utah Jazz Victor Oladipo (Wrist), Julius Randle (Personal), Jordan Mickey (CD),

Rose is back but Randle goes out.  Rumor has it that trades are on the way, will they get em in before the next week starts?  This team is deep enough to manage with some injuries, so I don't envision this as a big set back.
Washington Wizards John Lucas (CD), Kyle Korver (Illness),

Melo is back, but Korver is out, luckily Swaggy P has been balling out.  They are having a good season, hopefully Korver gets back soon.  I bet they don't even miss him this week though.
