I really like this for Sixers. That's a top 3 pick and a solid player for Bari, and noone really knows what he'll look like when he returns.

That was my fault... I misread and thought it was the '17 Port pick

I could argue that the Detroit turn around was less significant than the ones that the blazers have with a few decent players already in hand. Between the unpredictability of a new engine (maybe), player movement, player improvement, etc. we can't dismiss the possibility that the blazers pick could be outside of the top 5. To me it seems pretty fair though - I don't think anybody is arguing that it is one-sided, but it's definitely an interesting deal between two good teams/GMs.

this was a tough decision and there is a lot of risk. but it was an easy and painless negotiation. thanks, spud.

Stays as is? The Portland pick is 2018, not 2017 penny

I'm not saying it was a bad trade for either, maybe you're misunderstanding me. I'm just saying that I was surprised that Parker warranted that much value with the severity of his injury. Maybe I am completely in the wrong, but I thought I read that Jabari was going to be out for a full calendar year. Also, it's the exact same injury to the same area. Any draft pick is a risk, of course. Shit, Dave could draft the next Darko Milicic...lmao

if everything stays as is, the ABSOLUTE worst the Portland pick could be is 4th, and the numbers would be astronomical for that to even happen. Portland is almost definitely a top 3, likely top 2 pick.

so much uncertainty on both sides. Portland pick is almost definitely top 5 - but we've seen crazier. Even top 5, it's a roll of the dice. Parker looked like a young all-star when healthy this season, but same major injury twice is tough to swallow.

Yeah the same injury in the same way in the same knee. Interesting to see how this looks in a few years

Lmao wiz. You about to flip the league on its head somehow? I gotta hand it to dave, he always finds ways to reload. I think Jabari is a nice young piece, but didn't he re-injure the same knee? If he overcomes this and keeps his athleticism, he's a really good addition for minny.

This is going to look silly when the Blazers make the playoffs next season and the Sixers don't :)

Dave and I have been discussing Clarkson since I got him, glad we could work something out. A bit of a gamble for both of us, how will Jabari return from injury, and will Portland get better next season.

Geez, Portland don't even own their 2018 1st
