Trade Deadline Inbound

With the trade deadline fast approaching, the Washington Wizards continue to be one of the teams with veteran players ready to be traded to playoff contending teams. But will there be any deals made in the closing days for the Wizards? Rumors are that the Wizards phone lines have been dead silent over the last week. No one seems to want to trade with them for whatever reason. Maybe the prices are too high for other GMs, or teams just dont have what would make deals work, but no offers mean missed opportunities. Its clear that GM Darko wants to make deals, but if no one is calling, there simply cant be any deals to be made. So for the players like Robin Lopez, Jamal Crawford, Ish Smith, Joe Johnson, and JaMychal Green, this could mean that they will end the season as a Washington Wizard.
An Epic Battle in D.C.

The current season isnt going well for the Wizards, and this shouldnt be a surprise really as they are a rebuilding team. But the Wizards have lost their last five games, and nine of their last ten. Even though things are looking rough, the Wizards and Warriors played an excellent game between the two in week 13. The Warriors ended up victorious but it would go into multiple overtimes with the end result being a 157 to 164 loss for the Wizards. These two teams that have the two worst records in the league put on a show for the fans. Harrison Barnes put up 51 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists against the Wizards. Wizards fans saw more of a balanced attack from their team. Randle, Johnson, Hield, Crawford, and Lopez all score between 23 and 28 points a piece. Green chipped in with 17 points and 20 rebounds. It was an exciting game that seemed like it would never end.
V.C. back in D.C.

In other news the Washington Wizards released big man Amir Johnson, who mostly played garbage minutes when he saw the court. The move was made to sign free agent Vince Carter. Carter who was dubbed "Air Force One" back when he played for the Wizards in 37 games, and averaged 25 points per game, is back on the team and wont be wearing his #1 jersey as he did back then. Instead he will be wearing his usual #15 when he does suit up, which will most likely be for week 14. With the injury to Justin Anderson, Vince should fill a role as soon as possible. We get back to action next week where the Wizards will host the Raptors, and go on the road to Los Angeles, Minnesota, and Charlotte. A tough schedule indeed.
