Q & A Serge Ibaka

Today we bring in Serge Ibaka into the studio for a bit of a midseason review.

Johnny: Hey Serge, welcome

Serge: Cheers Johnny, It’s great to be here

Johnny: The team seems to be travelling very well, second in the East, what are your thoughts so far?

Serge: The team is really playing well together, everyone plays to their role and we are seeing the results. Andre is a monster in the Key, smashing down rebounds and is hard to stop. Lebron is just doing what Lebron does. I love the addition of Gerald, he really lights it up, love his celebrations and when at practice, you should see some of the magical dunks he puts on.

Johnny: What do you think of your role?

Serge: I just want to stay out of Andre’s way on offence, try to spread the floor, get some open looks if they come my way. On defence, that’s where I see my biggest role, I just want to beat my man, and help cover my team mates.

Johnny: You have had a few discrepancies this season so far?

Serge: I just won’t back down, someone comes at me, I have to stand up, put them in their place.

Johnny: Don’t you think it’s affecting the team though, you have missed 2 weeks?

Serge: I do feel bad about that, sitting on the sidelines is never good. I really need to be allot more controlled in my aggression.

Johnny: Last year you were in the second highest scorer, it really looked like you took a step up, hitting 50% from behind the arc, what’s changed?

Serge: My long range shooting has been a bit down, been working hard in the gym to fix that. We have a few new changes to the line-up, so with it my role changes. Covington is now starting, Milos has joined us, and he plays are really great pick and roll with Andre. It’s all about wining, I am really enjoying that, hopefully we can keep it going for the rest of the season, and into the playoffs.
