Sabonis the Savior

It's been a trying time for the Hawks and GM bandrsn10 as their stalwart center and leader, Greg Monroe was indisposed and ended up missing a week. With their grips on the 8th seed in the East lost and the losses beginning to pile up, Atlanta was getting desperate, going so far as to offer up Monroe in trades.

In perhaps what has been the single brightest moment for a player on the team this year, Domantas Sabonis stepped up when his name was called and averaged 21 points and 20 rebounds in Week 13. This effort helped the team to a 2-2 record this week and a game out of the playoffs. GM bandrsn10's comments on the spectacular performance:

"This is why we brought Domas in. We knew he could play and play at a high level. Given the right opportunity, we knew he would shine. We are excited to continue to see him grow and become the cornerstone player we believe him to be."

High praise indeed for the 2nd year player. In other news, Markelle Fultz has been spotted in practice shooting close range shots and practicing his free throws. His 3pt shot has yet to be seen and it might not be back this year. In fact, Fultz might not be back this year. This would be a huge blow to a team on the precipice of the playoffs.

In other injury news, new addition Patrick McCaw has fractured his wrist and will be out 4 weeks. He was doing a good job on the bench to help fill out minutes that were previously held by Thabo, who is out for the year. The team will be be investing in body bubbles for the rest of the team.

The team appears to not be making any changes before the trade deadline but not for a lack of trying. The GM has said that multiple players are available and that his phone is always on.
