I Like Mike

In a major move for the Pelicans, they finally have a star! (and injured one, but it still counts) on the roster since GM gc6 has taken over.

Mike Conley and Semi Ojeleye come to the big easy in exchange for George Hill, the 2013 1st overall pick in Ben Mclemore and three future second round draft picks.

Looking towards next season after this season hasnt gone to plan at all, Mike Conley should give the pelicans a fresh start and some star quality, and hopefully a shot at the playoffs. A bit of a risk on our end given the recent injury history and enormous contract, but you gotta swing for the fences when you havent got anything to lose.

Also leaves some questions coming into the offseason. Can Conley and Jackson co exist in the back court?
Will Jackson be put on the block or will he be given a shot at starting in the shooting guard position?
So a few questions to answer and certainly a few sleepless nights for gc6 in store over all these decisions.

Semi Ojeleye looks like a nice prospect, but hes already been shipped off in another deal haha, so no real point in doing a write up.

Unfortunately or fortunately depending on how you look at it, the end result of all these deals and injuries at the pelicans at the moment is that the product we are putting out absolutely sucks.

Recent losses include a 40 point smacking at the hands of San Antonio and also an 10 point final quarter in a loss to the Golden State Warriors.

Its all part of the process though, and you gotta tear it down sometimes to build it back up. So one eye will be kept on the free agents at the end of the year and the other on the draft. The Pelicans fan base would love a young star to cheer for next season!
