Trade Deadline Approaches

BYE FELICIO!

We are two weeks away from the trade deadline and the Washington Wizards have started to get things rolling. The Portland Trailblazers agreed to a deal with the Wizards to exchange Justin Anderson for Cristiano Felicio. "We were looking to move Felicio for a while now. He is a decent player with some potential, but we didnt feel he was in our future plans." said Darko. The Wizards also shed a lot of money moving Felicio's 4 year 32 million dollar deal, in exchange for Andersons friendly rookie contract where he is only making 1.5 mil this season. This will help sign Julius Randle this offseason, and possibly Seth Curry if he isnt traded before the deadline. The Blazers also picked up a 2019 Knicks second round pick in the deal. So whats next for the Wizards? Well they are still shopping guys like Robin Lopez, Ish Smith, Jamal Crawford, and Seth Curry but so far not many teams have come calling for the veterans. Guys like Lopez and Crawford could really help a playoff team take it to the next level, as for Seth Curry, he is a gamble, there is no question about that. But the reward for the gamble could be great if he is back in time for the playoffs, and its very likely he will resign with the same ball club in the offseason.
A CHAMPION RETURNS!

In other news the Wizards got older, a lot older when they signed 40 year old Jason Terry to the team. If you dont remember, the last time Terry was on the Wizards they won a championship. The veteran point guard is a favorite of GM Darkos, so it was a no brainer to bring him back to Washington. But will he make any impact on the team? "There is a good chance we will use Terry in our rotation going forward." said Darko. As of now Terry is on the injured reserve this week, but looks to be ready to go next week. Will he have a reserve roll or maybe even possibly a starting role for the Wizards who are trying anything to get some wins. Frank Mason and Seth Curry continue to ride the pine due to their injuries. The Wizards would love to have these guys available. The team only have one legit point guard healthy on the team, and three or four on the injured reserve. If any of these guys would kindly heal the hell up and get back on the court, that would be a good thing. This week the Wizards have games against Toronto, Philly, Orlando, and Golden State. This is their easiest week of the season if you go by opponents winning percentage. But the Wizards havent had much success this season against the Magic or Toronto, so expect at least two losses this week.
