Its a dark, dark night in the Land of 1000 Lakes with much beloved player Demarcus Cousins going down with a season ending achilles injury. This injury not only ends Cousins season but effectively ends the championship hopes of the entire franchise. To make matters worse the starting power forward and one head of the big three headed monster in Kevin Love has fractured his hand and will miss 6 - 8 weeks as he recovers. As they say, bad things come in threes as recently acquired point guard Isaiah Canaan went down with a season ending and gruesome ankle injury that led to a patron in the front row to vomit upon seeing the injury live was gruesome to sat the least. GM Joshua was asked about the injuries, his response was composed and vague but hopeful as we have come to expect from this new gm. “The injury bug has really hit hard this week with two season ending injuries and Kevin to be out for up to 2 months but this franchise, much like this great city, Minnesota are resilient and will fight through this and decide the best path to take to win a championship” Joshua said at the emergency press conference called to discuss the injuries. Responsibility has fallen onto C.J McCollum’s broad shoulders to become the the offensive focal point and the voice on and off the court. “C.J will get the keys to the offence from this point on and we trust he can handle the extra workload and even thrive under the immense pressure and expectations we are now putting on him, if anyone cam do it he can” says Joshua with a glint of what only can be described has hopeful and proud. Which direction will the franchise head in from here and how resilient it is will all be discovered over the coming weeks. “From the ashes a Phoenix will rise”
