Who'd a Thought...

With a win over the Los Angeles Clippers the Portland Trailblazers have moved into 4th spot in the Western Conference.

The Portland faithful could not have dreamed a start like this to the season after what they had to endure in the last. But i guess it shows the people pulling the strings behind the scenes do have some clue as to what they are doing.

The surprising turn around by the club is interesting, as there have not been a whole lot of changes or additions, besides the obvious in Rudy Gay, who has been dubbed “The Difference” by the Oregon natives. Unbeknown to most, the front office must have had plans in the works and strategies as to how they would get their metaphoric train back on the tracks. The GM was asked in a recent interview what his plan was coming into this season and he replied with a smug grin on his face, “trust the process”. maybe Joel Embiid wasn't the one who conjured the catchphrase after all. Although he definitely seems cooler saying it.

Fans of basketball must be loving this unpredictable season, loving the fact that the underdogs have put themselves in a position to succeed and has caused a shakeup of the ladder. Some unfamiliar faces in the top half of the ladder can never be a bad thing. Change is a good as a holiday they say.

The season so far reminds me of some nostalgic movies. ones like Major league, where non one expected a team to do anything, but the team proves willpower and determination are two very powerful things. Perhaps Mahinmi is praying to a voodoo god and this is the cause for his outstanding start to the season, or maybe its just he is that good. Ill leave that for you to decide.
