Where did you go!? My Lovely!
Where did you go!? My Lovely!
Two stellar Q1 performances have been the catalyst for much
change and excitement in Miami. The W4 loss of Timofey Mozgov greatly affected
the team as they aimed to continue their impressive run of wins without their 6th
Man of the Year candidate. The team was able to keep the train rolling with
standout supply from JJ Redick and Bismack Biyombo. However the team is now
staring down the barrel of another week and another key loss – this in the case
of rookie-star Kyle ‘King Kuz’ Kuzma. The small forward has been a great asset
to the team and enabled the free reign of many others to produce consistent
numbers. With the return of Mozgov, the Heat reshape and reassess their roster
in an aim to keep one of the most hyped teams in the NLL on track for further
success.
PLAYERS IN FOCUS
TIMOFEY MOZGOV |
Timofey Mozgov has been superb as a 6th man during the
opening of the season. He has put up big numbers when needed and allowed the
Miami Heat to have a sturdy big man combination, which has been missing in
previous rosters. Running in tandem with Bismack Biyombo that pair have
imposed themselves on games and added to the 11-6 run that the Miami Heat
have created. |

KYLE KUZMA |
Kyle Kuzma has been a revelation for the Miami Heat – he has played
the role of small forward brilliantly thus far in his short career. But going
forward needs to see the board and basket more often to solidify himself as
an NLL threat week in week out. Kuzma has been able to allow point guard Devin
Harris to run rings and rack up dimes while allowing JJ Redick to find the
open shot. Next step – finding his own shot. |
“This has been the aim of team, to construct a team that is not overly reliant
upon one player. We play for each other and that has been the cornerstone of
our success over the past few games” stated Breece in a recent insider
interview with 60 Minutes. The interview will be screening this Sunday titled ‘Turning the Heat Up’.
Recently the fans have been flooding the stadium with record numbers of
season ticket holders coming on board to support the team.
“Attendance is up and
it’s all because of our brand of basketball. We aren’t shying from the ‘big
teams’. We are taking it to them. We aren’t shying away from success. We are
welcoming it. We aren’t accepting the words of the naysayers. We are elevating
our game” stated Breece in recent press conference.
The up-coming week will be interesting as the Heat take on:
