Salt Lake...we have a problem!
Salt Lake...we have a problem!
So here’s what we have right now, here’s the state of the
franchise:
We have a great frontcourt situation in Lamarcus, Marc and
Willie, however they can’t seem to stay out of their own way with foul trouble
and Marc Gasol was, at one point a top #5 in personal fouls in the entire
league! Can you believe that? At one point Marc Gasol and Willie Cauley-Stein
fouled out of the same game, and WCS most impressively fouled out in very
limited minutes!
The solution was swift and Marc is now being brought from
the bench, and it has worked somewhat in terms of them staying on the court,
but it hasn’t translated to a lot of wins up to this point. The Jazz have a
5-game week and now stand at just .500, which is a great improvement comparing
to week 1 and week 2 results, and in saying that, it tells us all you need to
know about the early season struggles.
On the bright side, we are seeing two of the Jazz’ remaining
young players in action (after last seasons’ “youngling purge”), in Willie
Cauley-Stein and Sean Kilpatrick and they’re both starting and holding their
own. WCS particularly is giving one heck of a show posting career highs across
the board, even breaking the 20-point mark for the first time this season with
a 23-9 performance on 8-11 shooting!
Kilpatrick on the other hand has his best season outing in
week 2 for a 20-point outburst off the bench, but sadly he was a volume shooter
in that one and we didn’t win the game.
Looking forward, we anticipate a change in the sliders in
the horizons and we hope that it brings up good fortunes for a Utah Jazz team
that has been struggling to find their way in the first quarter.

PJ Tucker has been coveted by multiple teams
while one in particular has taken the early lead, is PJ close to being on the
move?
