Bulls Desperate To Prove Themselves

Bulls Desperate To Prove Themselves

As of writing this, the Bulls currently sit 5th in the Eastern Conference with a 6-3 record.

A great week 1 saw Chicago beat the likes of Denver, LA Clippers and a satisfying win over the team that finished above them last season, in Brooklyn.

It was hoped that the Brooklyn win would be a real statement for this team to show that they have improved, and not gone backwards due to the Klay Thompson trade.

A loss to the struggling Blazers to end the week was not part of the plan however, perhaps meaning the Brooklyn win was more about the players missing for the Nets.

Week 2 saw mixed results again, great progress was made by beating the undefeated Magic and strong starting Pelicans. But again a step back against the slow starting Sixers and a disastrous second half in the game of the week against arch division rival the Bucks undid a lot of good work and respect that had so far been garnered from the NLL media.

Week 3 has started well with a 20 point win over the Hawks at home, it is hoped the team can continue its good form into the remaining games against Washington and Indiana, who are both struggling to score the ball at the moment.

The real big game is a rematch against the Bucks, and with the bright lights of game of the week gone, it is hoped the Bulls will put in a more competitive 4 quarter effort.

A strong showing against the Bucks would do a world of good for the confidence of this team, that it can hang with anyone the league has to offer.

One player who has certainly been proving himself so far has been Stephen Curry. The GM favorite is currently leading the league in points per game, as well as field goals made and three point field goals made. He also currently ranks 4th in the MVP race.

As a team, the Bulls again rank number 1 in three point field goals made, continuing on from last season and according to advanced stats, rank number 2 in shooting, 4th in offense and 5th in turnovers. An excellent result so far.

For further strides to be made however, the team must improve it's defense, ranked 20th and rebounding, ranked 28th. The return of Joakim Noah should help both of these things, however it is currently uncertain when he will be ready to be placed on the active roster.

Come back soon Joakim!
