Welcome Al-Farouq!

Welcome back Warriors fans! After our summer break we want to welcome another new player to our roster With this article.
The newest member of the Warriors is Al-Farouq Aminu. He came last weeks in a trade for JJ Barea.

As we heard about Barea is leaving the Warriors we was a little sad about it...because he has played very well for us last season. But only a hand full games because of his injury problems.

So it should make sense to trade away an old point guard for a young wing player.
Aminu is known for his defense. He hasn´t have a good shoot.

Al-Farouq was drafted 2010 at the 7th position by the Detroit Pistons.
He is 26 years and played for 8 different NLL teams so far, so Golden state will be his 9th team.
Aminu is Nigerian and played for the Nigerian national team since 2009. He competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics and was named All-Star Five of the 2015 Afrobasket.

We are expect to see him as a backup Small Forward, sometimes as a backup power forward.
The forward position is loaded, with Barnes and Saric even Batum could play at Small forward.
Shabazz Muhammad is more a small forward that a shootig guard. But we need a backup shootig guard, so this should be Muhammads role most of the time.
So with Markus Smart and TJ McConnel as our starting and backup point guards it should make sense to have him as our backup small forward.

Aminu still has time and room to develop his game, he could make our second unit better at the defensive end.

Fun fact: What have Barea and Aminu in common, other than they got traded for each other last week?
Both have their own branded sunglasses!

Stay tuned Warriors fans for the next articles to come!
