Turning the corner

Turning the corner!!

Rebuilding can be an arduous, terrible and head bangingly frustrating time for teams sometimes its done out of necessity thanks to previous miss-management and sometimes its a simply a decision made and one that should not taken litely let me tell you

a 7th seed and a round 1 routing at the hands of the Sacramento Kings a number of seasons ago set the wheels in motion and here we are four seasons later with a squad of youthful exuberance ready to (hopefully) breakout and turn the corner and start winning games a little more frequently

Will we see those L's converted to W's this coming season? Maybe, maybe not but we here in Clipper land have high hopes for the seasons ahead and believe we now have a nucleus that can grow together as a core and in time make some noise in the western conference.

Interview

ESPN: Plenty of fans want to know why trade what is perceived to be high first round pick so early on in season

Andrew: Well let just say it wasn't a decision made litely, we have had our eye on Aaron for a while now and feel like he is a player that can help our team achieve great things, he is 21yo and already has 3yrs experience in the league. We feel 2017/18 will be the year he truly starts to shine.

Last season was spent watching other teams results, checking draft boards looking at prospect video's and it was not a good time at all, we want this season to be about our own results and improving as a team

ESPN: how far can you go in 2017/18?

Andrew: As much as id like to say playoffs I think we still need to grow a little more as a team from within, maybe by all-star break we may see some forward movement as the guys gradually (and hopefully) improve.

One thing that gives us hope for improvement is the number of potential starters and key role players that we have entering the 2017/18 season which by our best estimation stands at 11 of our 15 contracted players are projected as starters for their respective NBA team.
