Welcome Lucas!

Welcome back Warriors fans! With this article we want to welcome another new player to our roster.

In the last article we wrote about our new shooting guard Nicolas Batum.

But he wasnÂ´t the only player that we got in return for our 2017 1st round pick (and Luol Deng). The young big man Lucas Nogueira was also part of the deal.

Nogueira was drafted 2013 at the 15th position by the Portland Trail Blazers.

He is still in his rookie contracts and only 24 years, so he fit our young team very well.

In the NLL he has already played for four different teams and Golden State will be stop number five for him.

Lucas is Brazilian so we add another international player, we now have two French players, one German, one Brazilian, one Nigerian and one Croatian player. So out of our actual 15 guys we have five internationals.

Nogueira played for the U18 and U19 Brazilian national team so far.

He is a potential backup center for the Warriors, he could help out as a defender near the rim and as a shot blocker. He is a true 7-footer with a 7,6 wingspan, so he could fill a hole in our roster.

Frank Kaminsky seems to be the starter at the center position when the season will kick off next season.

But itÂ´s not really clear what will happen behind him. Lauvergne, Smith Leuer and Nogueira are potential centers. Lauvergne and Nogueira are likely to battle for the backup center spot and Smith will be mora of a reserve center. We donÂ´t know what will happen with Zimmerman at the moment, will he be a Warrior in a couple of months or will he be waived? He could be another candidate long term.
