The OG

The OG of NLL

With the 22nd pick in the 2017 NLL draft the Los Angeles Clippers would like to welcome Agugua “OG” Anunoby, a 6’8 235lb swingman from the famed Hoosiers team out of Indiana

The once highly touted prospect and early season projection as being a top 10 pick in what was considered a very strong draft went up in smoke when OG cruely suffered a suffered a season ending ACL tear that sent his draft stock tumbling to near the end of the 1st round.

And weren’t the LA faithful extremely happy to have lucked into such a great prospect late in the draft. Only six months earlier proclaiming OG to be a lock as a top 10 pick and a prime 3 and D prospect with elite size and measurements including a 7’2.5 wingspan

Introductory Press Conference

NBA.com: How happy were you to see OG still available at pick #22.

Andrew: it was such a great relief to see OG still on board when we picked we actually nearly traded the #22 pick to OKC but when Anunoby was still on the board we were very happy to select him. Thankfully the Thunder were happy with the 25th pick and Jonah Bolden

ESPN: OG, how do you feel knowing you’ll be playing in the NLL for the Los Angeles Clippers, does there current standing concern you?

OG Anunoby: firstly it is amazing knowing that I’ll be playing in the NLL, and the Clippers despite their standing last season they look like a young talented team on the rise. I can’t wait to hit the court with them. With guys like Devin, D’Angelo and Rodney all more offensive minded I feel I can add some defensive starch to the team.

Fox Sports News: On the injury, how far along are you and when can we expect you back to full basketball activities

OG Anunoby: im very happy with the progress, I fully expect to be back at basketball activities by October sometime if all goes well.

Fox Sports News: Can we expect more moves?

GM Andrew: We do expect to be active in the trade market, with one player already agreed to move on we have one roster spots available and upwards of 18 million dollars in cap space. We feel have the resources to add a player that can certainly add to the growth of our team.

Fox Sports News: Andrew, what do you feel OG offers the Clippers? With Kidd Gilchrist, Jackson and Hood already on the team?

GM Andrew: We feel he offers versatility across the team and should be able to in due time play and defend four positions on the floor.

Potential

His potential all comes down to shooting and his offence at the next level, already elite tools on the defensive side of the ball place him in the Khawi type of ceiling however his offence and usage rates place him in a lower level tier of prospect

If OG becomes the small forward / power forward version of Tony Allen, Clipper fans will be pretty happy
